Quick question about Damion5050's Bucket TEK 1

I am sure this is a dumb question and im sure it has been answered many times, but here it goes.
Damions5050's coir tek. Can I substitute his spawn, and use brf cakes with the same amounts?
Does anyone know how much his brick of coir weighed?
I am sure I am not the only noob having trouble finding this info. Thanks Guys

Yep, you can use the same amount of BRF cakes. And a brick of coir is about 350g.

More spawn= faster colonization correct?
Less spawn more bang for your buck? Bigger risk for contams?

With CVG I'd say there's no increased risk of contam going with a smaller spawn ratio, and in fact if you're using cakes it's probably a smaller risk--fewer eggs in one basket. There is some debate on whether smaller spawn ratios have weaker yields, with the yeas marginally in the majority right now, but it hasn't been set in stone and established firmly.

This is relevent to my interests. My syringes just came in today and i'm looking to do some bulk trays in addition to cakes. 20x half pint cakes = 5 quarts of spawn, correct?

I'd say roughly five, yeah. Or a little more. It's true that 20hp = 10p = 5 quarts, but we don't fill up spawn quarts as much as we fill up BRF cakes.

Remember cakes are half verm, so you have to use twice as many. 8 half pint cakes would be equal to a quart of grain spawn. My first successful grow was grated PF cakes spawned to bucket tek'd coir in a mini mono. You'll do fine with 8 cakes spawned to 3 quarts of substrate. Use a very coarse cheese grater for the cakes

Ok so Damion5050s ratio is : 1 Brick of Coir 2 Quarts of Verm 5 Quarts of Spawn A 5 gallon bucket with a lid
but your saying this is only for grains NOT BRF cakes? My thinking was (noob here btw) using this formula with 20 1/2 pint BRF/Verm cakes to make the 5 quarts of spawn. So really thats only going to be 2.5 quarts of spawn because of the verm? so I should use half as much verm and coir as the tek says to use? But really brf cakes are 2/3 verm 1/3 BRF......
