i thinks you are all detracting from serious discussion lol
PPP dont take things so serious its a debate!
the rest of you are bullys and twist things and gang up! alot what has been said has merit even if you dont see it or has no merit on your terms!!
im not going to hissyfit and runaway!! i no im not perfect and can admit when my theorys are wrong and i see the joking around as fun banter to pass the time, inbetween the bits of information that springs forth!
i certainly think theres more going on than most are willing or able to admitt, does that or will that make a difference who knows!
certainly not any of us fully understand and thats the beauty of it!! it means we can debate it because there is so many inconsistencies of opinion
all thats going to happen is people are going to be afraid to post experiments because of sad comment of others. fact!
if you are right then why bother, let others test and prove you right if your so sure of the results. but who will look stupid and childish if it is proved the other way around?

first off, none of us are bullies. we're mostly just sick of "facts" pulled out of someones ass. now to address your points;
1; most of us do know. as I've said many times before its very easy to tell which shrooms have been grown in sub par lightning conditions. If you havent seen it yourself you can either search the forums with pictures box ticked, or try it yourself. no one is gonna think less of you either way you choose!
2: spot on! we dont know, but we've seen correlating effects to a degree where we can say we know what will happen, but not specifically why it happens!
3: no one should be afraid to post experiements, or even weird experiences. its all going to spark trails of thoughts and add to the mysteries of mushroom cultivation. what one shouldnt do tho is do a wild grow and claim to know exactly what happened and why, because there will be discussions and if you arent ready to be told you are wrong there will be whining

I was never to strict on the times, sometimes I would wake them up at 3pm in the afternoon or put them to bed at 3am in the morning. Tried to get it as close to 7am - 7pm. So much work. Felt like I was babysitting. I should have just left them alone in the closet. Don't do what I did. 6500k lights are fine on a timer. lights play a very small role in the development of full flushes.

who else ever moved tubs around to get real sunlight? I hope I wasnt the only fool running around.

who did a wild grow? who claimed to know the exact reason why? i thought it was all speculation at this point till enough test prove it, i dont think anyone is saying they know why or how it happened just that it did!
i feel for PPP, Maybe im too caring and sensitive lol
and i can remember 10-15 years ago people telling others that mushrooms dont really need light and recommending fairy lights and rope lights for stealth grows in cupboards lol times change as does what is belived to be best!

ppp made a lot of crazy statements. he did 1 grow in the dark with a variety known to be stubby with large caps and started claiming light didnt matter for fruit development only pinning and brought in an ancient RR quote that was quite the opposite of what I've heard the rabbit say plus some unfounded quote from some chick claiming mushrooms grow underground.
assumptions or sparking debate is OK but to make such wild claims is hurting all the lurkers. there's a reason we all speak up, not so much because we care about his grow as the 100s of lurkers there are pr actual poster.

any shit does come out processed by heat and acids and the high amount of lactic bacteria makes it hard for contams to get a hold thats why we pasturize poop to save these bacteria for our grows benefit or we would just sterilise, but thats beside the point! dont know if the gut reaches high enough temp to pasterise tho lol
but stranger thing can happen, compost heaps generate enough heat to pasturize compost and kill pathogens+ non thermophilic bacterias
what im saying is i know where PPP was coming from
and he said it was from 2 year experience with that one strain growing the same way, didnt he?
and if PPP is a troll i must be tooo lol

if the cow stomach held pasteurizing temps spores would be killed not germinated
and people say a lot of weird things regarding their grows online, I wouldnt trust the words of someone whos that volatile and joined a couple months ago. he's reasoning was seriously flawed and thats what I was debating with him.

intensity for one and spectum depending on the season also the non visible side of the spectrum lots people including patsywhyte and SBJ and myself posted info that correlation suggests with higher intensity comes early maturation but maybe less weight.
if you look back to this morning i was on about the abundance of 'green' light that plant reject/dont use and how this is abundant in fields and under trees so most mushrooms get descent levels of this outside from our sun.
it was what you posted that made me think about this.! it was in the last paragraph of what you posted back abit about light that pass through canopys and not used by plants.
tagyo said it was not cubensis specific so i thought about it and applied to fields.
im sure you all know how colours work and that the colour of something is what it is because it dosent absorb that colour and reflects it back but absorbs the rest of the spectrum.
plants dont use green light thats why they reflect it back hence plants mostly being green! so in a feild of grass there is and abundance of green light reflected around and i wonder if mushrooms may have evolved to fill this gap!
anyone see my reasoning? do you agree this could/should be tested? its easily done, you can get bulbs that only emitt green light for hydro growers so they can check plants in the dark period without the plant knowing.
cfls we use are for supplement only and shouldnt be seen as a replacement for sunlight, and if arificial light is only considered supplemental anyway, where is the harm in trying to supplement a different spectrum that maybe effective!
