Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

That?s wonderful, I wonder if the colouring indicates high alkaloid content?

I've known someone who had a variagated, he tasted a piece and was hardly bitter, compared to normal peyote which is extremely bitter, indicating a low alkaloid content. This ones mainly for collectors IMO, not for those who want to eat williamsii.

this logic does not necesarily hold, as without an assay, there is no real indicator of wich alkaloids are lower tahn normal. the mescaline and other active compounds are not the most dignifigant contributors to the bitter taste as far as i know.

Personally i'm not interested in alkaloid content i grow them for decorational purposes only (really).

I'm sure it's not Myrtillocactus, maybe some Trichocereus species. It's hard to tell without spines
