the only trouble with that is WHAT shrinks? WHAT 'experts'--where THEIR heads at.
Quote:
The guy doing these studies, I have known about him, Dr Robin Carhart-Harris 'Scientists hope to prove the psychedelic drug may hold the key to curing anxiety, addiction and depression by giving participants LSD and monitoring the effects on the brain... He added: “We’ll try and work out how the drug works on the brain. There’s a number of different potential applications - in psychiatry, in treating addiction and anxiety and also depression. It’s similar to ketamine but with fewer side effects.'
I first heard of him on LondonReal at Youtube after watching him interviewed. He said he did not choose to take psychedelics so he can remain an 'objective scientist'
I went hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
He is a materialist who believes everything is the brain. IE he would not go near any spiritual stuff. And this worldview is the basic biomedical model most psychiatrists and psychologists adhere to
In this model 'depression' and 'anxiety' and 'addiction' are things that happen-to-the-brain, and you will rarely EVER here this mindset speak of spirituality and how the overall civilization has the effect on the mind and spirit!
For example, check this video out. I knew about what she is talking about before, but she summarizes it very well. Showing how the whole accepted notion of 'addiction' is false. That as is typical--it has been blamed on the brain, and thus on the invidual. In this way the larger dynamic is disappeared (ps--how phallic is that Imperial College or what???)
