congratulations, you've got a Cereus peruvianus.
take good care of it, you might find it useful one day.

Those spines look red until you get a close up pic...

also that's too much rooting hormone...

take a look from the top view...
unmistakable CP.
different spinations are found on this one, as well as fatter/thinner ones...

based on columnar_cacti.org it seems like its a trich. peruvianus or 'sp'. i dunno, id go with others on the peruvianus though, theyve got experience.

it's definitely not Trichocereus Peruvianus... the rib depth is quite deceiving from the two different angles.

It is true that Cereus (not trichocereus) Peruvianus have different variations of spination and rib distinctness...

But the top view of it and a side view both look very different.

though tentatively i'd guess Cereus Peruvianus, though spine color is different at different angles as well as rib depth.

went to the optometrist and had my eyes checked out, turns out theyre fine. i do appreciate your concern though, thank you.

i realize they look different, but how often does that happen within a species? i dont think these c.p. look any more similar to his pics than the t.p. on columnar_cacti.org but as i said, others have experience, listen to them.

oh, i'm glad you're seing ok!
anyways, i don't have much experience on it but i'd say their shape may vary a lot, just like shrooms, for example.
even the trichs shape and spination may vary a lot among individuals of a same species...
