Man I struggle as well. I get in these modes where I just psyche myself up and get on this whole cigarettes are fucking terrible for you and what the fuck is the point of smoking them, and I just cold turkey drop it. Then slowly I start to creep back in.

@ OhMrJohnson, Sounds like an avenue of exploration. I'm sure in another 5 years it'll be here.

A surefire way to kick smoking cigs is to get a 'script for Naltrexone. That stuff made me so nauseous, even the smell of cigarette smoke on my clothes had me literally dry heaving.

It was during quite a heavy acid trip many months ago that I truly realized how taxing cigarettes are on my body and soul I can't do justice to the experience in words but it forever changed the way I look at my tobacco addiction
Ever since that trip every cigarette I smoked would stack weights of guilt and self-loathing upon my shoulders it was becoming unbearable I was starting to truly despise myself for continuing to indulge in this neverending cycle of miserable decadence when I knew deep in my heart it was slowly dissolving everything that makes me happy in life
Tobacco was stealing my happiness with every puff slowly but surely destroying me
I realize this post is probably going to seem jumbled and slightly ridiculous to others who may read it but let me tell you that it comes from the deepest fathoms of my heart and if it means so much to me perhaps it may to you as well

I had a dab "trip" where all I could see when I closed my eyes was no smoking signs.
It's clear they're bad. I'm still finding a use for them sparingly though. Im definetly not a heavy user and I'm going to work on removing them entirely from my life.

It's your path and you will follow it however you choose
I no longer try to convince people to quit smoking or start vaping or whatever else because ultimately it is all a personal decision and people will do what they will do regardless of whether I want to sway them one way or the other
But the facts are out there for those who seek them as are the means

Funny. When I used to smoke, every time I took LSD it had a profound impact on me wanting to quit. It always told me "what the fuck are you doing smoking that shit? What's the fucking point? Why the fuck are you just poisoning yourself with that pointless shit?" I never listened to it though.. I was always smoking the next day until one day when I finally had enough. Weird though how LSD always had me seriously questioning cigarette smoking to the extreme. Mushrooms and other stuff never did that to me.. just LSD.

Yeah man I started smoking years before I took acid for the first time and even the first few times i took it I never felt that way about it smoking was always a neutral activity to me in my mind in the sense that it didn't really bother me psychologically
Until that fateful trip laying by myself in my room meandering deep through the crevasses of my mind it all just fell down upon me like a ton of bricks and from that night to this very day smoking even a single cigarette fills me with guilt
I'm not sure what to make of it so I don't try

I think cigs are only really harmful if you're smoking too excessively
Every week I smoke an average of 5-10 cigarettes but I eat really healthy and jog a few miles a day.
I don't think that's too harmful for the body at all.

Yeah same here man. It was kind of the same for me. I mean I was smoking for years, and I took acid for years.. it never really bothered me until that one trip. Before that, I would take acid.. and I would chain smoke a whole pack of cigarettes in a night and it never bothered me. But it just reached a point one day, where I was tripping and I took one drag off a cigarettes and it just hit me like a ton of bricks like.. What the fuck are you doing, man? It was never quite the same after that.

Any amount of cigarettes is harmful
One two ten a thousand it makes no difference
Every single cigarette pollutes every single cell in your body it's that simple
Every human is unique however some people smoke like chimneys until they're 80 and never get serious complications from it others smoke less and die of cancer before age 35
It's complerely unpredictable in every sense of the word
But there is one constant and that is cigarettes can do nothing but bring you down even if you're under the illusion that they're helping you cope that's what makes them so insidiously tempting

Lol it's funny I still remember that night like it was yesterday I was out on the porch smoking a cigarette and the doses were really starting to come on and I got this overwhelming feeling of some entity calling out to me (figuratively of course) it seemed like it was saying "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING put that damned thing out and go to your bed the show is about to begin"
So I did what it wanted and the rest is history

I smoked for 18 years. Went to vaping about 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Cigarettes disgust me now.
The key is to start out with a high enough nicotine level, and a decent enough device that produces good vapor, so you will satisfy your cravings. Don't start with shitty gas station disposables or some shitty device.
If you do it right you can quit smoking cigarettes overnight, with no withdrawal and no regrets. Then lower your nicotine level down gradually if you like. But vaping is 100x better for your health, no doubt about it.
Yeah, get a good ecig and some 18 strength nicotine liquid and work down from there.

All I'm saying is that realistically speaking you're not going to have any serious problems in your life if you smoke a few 5-10 cigarettes a week.
Fast food is horrible for you. Alcohol is horrible for you. But as long as you don't do either one excessively you'll be fine.
I agree, cigarettes are always BAD but they're not realistically dangerous if you smoke them infrequently

Justify it however you will as I said I'm not here to shake your opinions out of you or sway you one way or the other it is always your decision
Just keep the facts in mind tobacco cigarettes are responsible for more death despair and suffering than any other substance on this planet by far
But as with any other substance, it is your choice to use it or not to use it

I think when people get ill they start back peddling. It makes sense to stop before that point. If you get ill you'll wish you did.

Unfortunately at that point it's often too late
Cigarettes gave my great-grandmother a stroke before I was born she ended up dying because of complications it caused
To this day I often wonder what she was like as a person
Thanks to tobacco I never got a chance to find out

My mum's on her way out with emphysema. It's not pretty. It'll take 10 years off her life but she was diagnosed 17 years ago. I worry what will happen when she can't get out of bed anymore. I live in constant fear of catching a cold because it will be deadly.

I'm sorry to hear that man
I can't imagine what it must be like to have developed such a condition
I felt like I was in the beginning stages of COPD right around when I switched to vaping it was scary I felt like every cigarette was making it harder and harder to get a deep enough breath of air
Now it's been 3 months without the tobacco and there's no doubt about it my lungs have begun healing themselves I no longer need to struggle for breath like I used to

Thanks man,,,,
She can't walk at all anymore. She's stopped painting and gets out of breath just typing on a keyboard. It must be terrifying and a constant drag but she's never been depressed through the whole thing. I've struggled with it more than she has.
My lungs were wrecked before i gave up but thankfully it turned out to be asthma. Saving grace i think.
