Back on the cigarettes boys
    #21285740 - 02/16/15 10:20 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

is it normal to fluctuate and take months off and then return to them for like a week or two?

Because that's where I'm at.

I had quit for a month but I bought a pack this week and I'll probably buy one to carry me through the weekend and that's it.

Does anyone have this odd relationship with cigs?
I know for a fact I can drop the habbit again as I plan, I just find it odd that I have these weeks where I just need a pack.

I never crave cigarettes anymore

I still think about them sometimes though and all that comes to mind is how shitty they taste and how terrible they used to make me feel about myself

Double the ecig recommendation.

I smoked for 18 years. Went to vaping about 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Cigarettes disgust me now.

The key is to start out with a high enough nicotine level, and a decent enough device that produces good vapor, so you will satisfy your cravings. Don't start with shitty gas station disposables or some shitty device.

If you do it right you can quit smoking cigarettes overnight, with no withdrawal and no regrets. Then lower your nicotine level down gradually if you like. But vaping is 100x better for your health, no doubt about it.

Fuck cigarettes. Stop while you can.

I smoked for like a month and when I stopped I got the worst anxiety.

I heard my grandfather used to do this as well, so it's possible I just have a very high tolerance for addiction. He used to keep packs of cigarettes in his truck that would last him a while. He'd smoke all but one in like a week. Then sit on the last cigarette for a few weeks and then repeat the cycle.

I find it strange that I have a similar relationship with nicotine.

I smoke cigarette and vape as well.

Obviously, relapsing with any addictive substance is very commonplace.

Seems like you have your habit pretty under control.

Good.

Same exact story here

I crushed my cigarettes the night I started vaping at the crack of November and aside from a couple slip-ups here and there I haven't looked back

I actually enjoy vaping it's a fun hobby and over the past few months my tobacco addiction has simply melted away.. which is something I personally never thought I could achieve

I go months without smoking a cig, but all it takes is one cig to get me back Into the habit, sometimes it lasts for a few weeks, sometimes just a few days, how long It will last depends mostly on how I am feeling at the time, but I normally try to avoid them at all costs.. Yea I guess I have a pretty strange relationship with them too..

Vapor is just so goddamn tasty.
Kahlua and Banana Pudding.
Slim Mints and Red Hots.
Blueberry menthol. Etc.
I'm still trying to save up for a better rig.

It's normal.

You're just not physically addicted to them so you can take huge breaks without seriously craving them

I don't like E cigs personally.  They're  just not enjoyable or satisfying to me.

Cigarettes are really satisfying once in a while, especially if you're high. The trick is just to not get hooked because then they become a pain in the ass.

I've cleaned my lungs out after years of smoking. I see one drag as being back at square one. It's a fresh coat of carcinogenic tar to remove. I don't want that on my lungs anymore.

You can make your own cannabis-infused glycerin tinctures if you so desire

It's tricky though because glycerin isn't a particularly efficient medium for cannabinoids but with a bit of research I'm sure you could figure it out

I don't like the tar either but I actually do love the taste of a good cig. It's also the best thing if I feel like dancing. Having a cig in my hand/mouth will get me grooving faster than any amount of other drug.

That said, I've already been a proud vaper. I'm the same way with that though, except I do longer stretches of time on it and longer time off it.

I don't know why it's cyclical but it makes it easier to quit. I only worry that it's potentially more dangerous as I let my lungs repeatedly clear and then get tarred.
