mycelium growth (time line)?
    #2128479 - 11/21/03 10:21 PM (20 years, 4 months ago)

Someone Somewhere has mycobags of WBS that have 100% mycelium growth in a dark-box (that took aprox time [25] days to fully cover).

If the guy/girl has to leave for [15-20] days and can't take care of a turtle while he/she is gone will the bags still be good left in the box around 40-60 degrees for that much longer? (aprox total of 45-50 days from inoculation max).

Is there someway to help prolong/stun growth untill he/she gets back (like mabey refrige)?

Thank You,

They should be fine, they might pin and grow in there the way they are, or simply sit there colonized waiting for you to fruit them. Keeping low temps will cause a cold shock most likely and start a pinning process though.

not true...putting them in the fridge will stall growth.
only when you remove them from the fridge and return them to fruiting temps will they be considered as coldshocked.
the coldshock process is both the cooling and warming cycle.
only after a return to fruiting temps will they pin.

I thought leaving them in the fridge would also induce it considering thats how natural cold shocking would be done in nature in later months? I could be wrong, this is just a theory...

Nope, because they won't start growing in that cold of a temperature. It wouldn't be smart to grow and release spores into an enviorment that couldn't support it.

But they have to survive winter months somehow.. How long will colonized substrate keep in the fridge? and if stunted in this way how long would it take to resume normal growth?
