Straw log not colonizing

I know there is a ton of info on straw logs on here and I believe I have read every word of it but here is my question.
Its been 3 days and there is no sign of colonizing yet. I inoculated straw with elm oyster about a 1:4 ratio. Used RRs tek with soap for a few hours and then pasturize at 160 for 1 hr. I layered the straw and spawn tight and then poked lots of holes in it. I read in one of the post that rr said if it isn't fully colonized in 8 days then there is something wrong. there is no white yet at all. Is 3 days to early to see some growth. it has been sitting in room temp. There is condensation on the side of the bags. I also didn't chop the straw up to 3 inches as most of it was already pretty small with some long stems in there too. Any advice/experience anyone can give me. Thanks

What did you inoculate it with and where did you get it? 25% is a big spawn ratio, but elm can be a funny one, not as reliable as a Grey Oyster.

Well that will slow it down, usually incubation is 72-75, lower wont hurt but it will be slower. Maybe just more patience required. Elm is always slow in my experience - though at that spawn ratio I would have expected to see something. Can you see the spawn "fuzzing" at all?

I can see a few heavy spots where the spawn is and I don't see any white at all in it.

Not sounding good. Give it a few more days and if you are still not seeing any myc on the spawn then toss it. You may want to enquire at FP first but it really sounds like duff spawn to me.

talked to fp and they said elm is slower then most oysters and that it might be colonizing inside and I just cant see it. Didn't have much else to say though. When I received the spawn it was all brown then I let it rest for a week and it started to turn white all over so I assumed that it was healthy mycelium. Has anyone used straw with elm and is it really that much slower then other oysters? All of the other oysters I have done have colonized fairly quickly.

I have grown quite a bit in the past, just getting back into Elm now. I remember that it would not run on lime treated straw when everything else would. I have around 80kg colonising now - very slow, the Grey inoculated at the same time has been moved to fruiting already.
HU/Elm here:

Little update. Still not a lot of white showing, but pins started to come up under the bag. I split one of the bags to give some more fea. When you guys start seeing them pin underneath the bags, do you start fruiting conditions?
