Addiction experiment/Theory

I read something about a rat addiction experiment. Everyone knows the old rat in a cage with drugged water, end up with addicted rat ect. But someone else did the same experiment with a rat paradise. The rat had fun fucking female rats, playing and didnt even touched the drugged water. Almost like LSD, you dont find heroin it finds you. Your environment determines if you become a junkie not the chemical. For instance, successful people(as in real success not celebrities) either have no interest in drugs or are able to try it and either not like it or not become addicted EG lawyers.
A person doesnt choose to try heroin out of pure curiosity. Theres always something in your environment that doesn't suit or is lacking IMO

Yeah I think you're on to something... The way I discovered opiates was one day in highschool it was lunchtime so I walked home to eat lunch, I was sore that day from weights class so I asked my mother if there was any Tylenol she gave me this oval shaped pill with a line down the middle, she told me it was Tylenol so I took it as that. In class something felt different I couldn't quite put my finger on it, it was like the environment was more warm, more inviting, work seemed easier and not as stressful I also noticed I was a bit more talkative but at the same time chill. So over the course of a few weeks my mother would give me 'Tylenol' during lunchtime if I ever asked for one and I still remember just those days being good days, I knew I for some reason craved for my mother's magical 'Tylenol' but. couldn't figure out why I would want them so much.
Anyways comes the end of the school year summertime starts so I'm just smoking weed everyday, in the search for any new drugs but then I remember my mother's 'Tylenol' I remember that day she had went to work but left her purse behind witch contained her meds, I saw the orange pill bottle I grabbed it and read the label 'Hydrocodone 10/325' I knew what Hydrocodone so in my head I thought "SCOOOOOREEEEE! MO DRUGS FOR ME!!!' I opened the bottle and took a pill the pill was very familiar then it snapped! This is the magical 'Tylenol' my mother has been giving me I took a couple, I drank one and all of those very blissful feelings returned 'AHHHH, THAT HITS THE SPOT!' So I knew this, this was the pill that made me have this good days, I popped another and felt even more good so for the rest of the summer I would take some and chill out all day drawing and listening to music, I even did chores for fun witch was awesome because it made my mother too happy to notice I was taking her pills.
Now I love opiates but man those were the fucking days! Hell yeah! Now I get UA but still I remember all of the feelings of opiates, it's been 3 months since I've last taken opiates but I still fucking CRAVE them! I crave then so much I'll browse people's experiences with opiates and it makes me really wanna try it NOW! Fucking sucks I want some now I have some available but I can't take them drives me fucking nuts!

I reccommend checking out some of Gabor Mate's work. There are a lot of his talks on youtube.
This video answers the question of "what is addiction?" in a really succinct way I think.

Yeah, I believe it's pretty well established that the environment plays a huge role in how people behave
But remember correlation is not causation and it ain't the end-all-be-all. People from all walks of life take all sorts of [psychedelic] substances recreationally.

I've always thought nature vs. nurture was an argument that goes nowhere. It makes more sense to account for them equally. Our biology is experience as much as our psychology is.

There have been many long term studies done where they separate identical twins at birth and put them in different environments and see how they turn out. And they turn out very different.
Also check out cases of feral children, like Genie. When children don't acquire language at a young age, they're like wild animals for much of their lives. It's fascinating as fuck.

I did opiates because it was the last class of drugs I didn't try.
Also the allure of the Poppy.
Normally I do a poppy stint every summer but i've been too lazy to grow
Fun, not that fun...

Actually, they turn out exactly the same most of the times. Enviroment/Equality is bullshit.
Like these five creepy twins. Especially number 4 "Twins Separated at Birth Live Parallel Lives" and number 1 is just straight creep.

Confirmation bias? I suppose we can agree to disagree. There are too many untold factors that shape a person's personality and by extension, behavior, that to say that it's genes is similar to delegating the unknown to the works of God. Just imo.
