Using short 1/2 pt mason jars for agar and I'm a little confused how to sterilize them *PIC*

So I was trying to do an ISO and my last 6 Petri dishes got contaminated and I have 40 on the way but they won't be here til next week so I went out on got some platinum half pint mason jars because they were most similar to Petri dishes in terms of size. My question is how the hell do I sterilize them? They're really short so I can't just toss them in the pc because they'll fall under the minimum water line in the pc.
Also, once I get the agar in there do I just make holes in the lid and make normal filter as usual or do I have to take an extra step like parafilming? Thanks
Here is a pic of the jar in case you're wondering:

Something about not having some sort of filter makes me nervous, at least in my experience. I'm thinking of just stacking then on jars or something in the pc.

I was thinking about doing a no-pour but I've never done it before. It seems as if it would be one less step though if I were to do it that way so only give it a shot.

Unless you're going for long term storage, there's plenty of air in there for your culture to survive.
I use a regular grain jar lid with 1/4" hole and SFD.
Mix & simmer your agar, use a syringe to add the liquid to your jars. Cover lids with foil & PC. Wait until cool before removing, to allow agar to set up.

Bro, for my PC i had this problem just go onto the website of your pressure cooker so for me it's cuisinart.com and they sell parts for it called trivets or stainless baskets to sit in the PC so you can steam the smaller objects

I use these when I rum out of plates. I use the 1/4 pint mason jars. I originally used grain filters like SFDs on them but they dried out a little bit if I didn't use them for a while. I dont use filter anymore cause I only use them in short term.
What I do is heat up my agar bottle so its liquid and then pour my jars in open air. I pop them in the PC on top of some canning rings.

Thanks! I don't have to pc them twice right? For instance I can just mix the agar in the bottle and pour into the jars then pc the jars once...correct? Stupid question I know I just want all my bases covered lol

I've done these in PF style jars with normal grain jar lids. It's definitely my least preferred way to do agar work, but it works in a pinch. OP, any sort of small pp5 container works better than mason jars IMO.

Well what I usually have to do is mix the agar up in the bottle, then PC for like 15 min so its all mixed up even. Then I pour and PC for 45 min.
You could boil the bottle in a pot too but I PC it cause its faster
These are actually really nice for like germination plates or taking clones, saves on plates that are just getting tossed anyway

You don't have to sterilize agar before pouring into mason jars if they're gonna get PC'd again. I do em just like pasty plates.
For pouring petris I PC my agar in this bottle and pour the plates in my SAB while the agar is still hot.

This thing is a "vinegar bottle" that I bought at World Market for 10 bucks. It's totally lab grade glass

I use regular mouthed half pint jars for agar work when it's not needed to pour 20-25 sterile plastic plates for smaller projects. The media is made by bringing water to a boil, and pouring the boiling water into a container (glass) with the media's ingredients already pre-measured. Mix well, then pour into media vessels. The vessels are then capped with regular media closures used for grain spawning, fitted with a synthetic filtering disk for gas exchange, covered with foil, and pressure sterilized for 45 minutes at 15-17 psi.
