Has anyone ever seen mycelium over power contamination before? I ask this becuase i just cased a contaminated cake but before i cased it i cut off all the contamination or so i thought. when i looked at the peice i cut out the contamination was much further then i thought so i might have just cased a colonized cake with a small amount of contamination.this is a sure 100% no success rate right? I already had no expectation of have a flush but i waste not want not. peace

I had a bag of wbs that was completely grey with a small patch of white. I threw it in a cabinet under the sink, with the intentions of throwing it away....it is now about 98% white with virtually no grey left. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it. *edit* I take it back, I just went and broke it all up inside the bag and there is still a fair amount of grey. I'd say about 60/40 -white/grey.

A friend has seen cakes completely overcome contams before and have decent fruits. On an entire black cake he had one small white spot that actualy pinned as well, Cutting out contams and casing them has always shown positive results for him.

That's not healthy...eating mushrooms off a contaminated cake is not good. Remember, the mushroom gets nutrients from the entire mycelium system, which includes the contaminated parts of the cake.

The green mold on his was found only on part of the top layer of the casing so it was never realy in contact with mycelium. And the mushrooms themselves were found to be perfectly normal after harvest.
