First time grain...need advice (G2G or grain slurry)

So I finally decided to try rye berries. I made a few jars that are waiting to be knocked up. I had some grain left over and this cheap little plastic container. So I decided why not use this crappy little container and see if I can use it. Drilled some holes in the top and cut a piece of tyvek. Knocked it up and covered the hole with a tiny piece of tyvek and a band aid. Not the prettiest but seems to be working. My idea is use this for either G2G or slurry. Any suggestions?

I did use jars..just had extra grain so I dumped them into 2 small containers for either g2g or slurry

Did you pc your grains? Are the berries in the plastic container pasturized? Did you pour them into plastic container iN open air? What was your process here?

They were rinsed and then sat 24 hrs. Then they were slow boiled then drained. Loaded them into containers and jars in open air. Then i PC'd them.

Yes even though they are cheap dollar store containers I made sure they were Polypropylene.

It would be better if the pictures came out clearer especially when you zoom in on them. The mycelium growth looks awesome. It's like you can see sector growth in all different spots.

if you want to attempt the grain slurry you will need an oster blender wtih the blade attachment. this will fit snugly to a regular mouth quart, pint or 1/2 pint jar. this will make blending much easier. but you will need to break up the grain in the container. then transfer it to the jar that has the pre sterilized water/blender lid on it.

The form mycelium takes depends on available nutrients so both forms are expected and mean nothing. If you have low nutrients, the mycelium will appear ropey as it's stretching for nutes. If you have high nutrients it will appear tomentose.
Neither have any bearing on fruiting potential.

Why is a blender needed?

Well a slurry is basically blended mycelium in sterile water. You have to put the blender blades on a jar with some water, blades facing the inside, PC it to sterilise everything. Then you can put mycelium in there in a SAB, blend. Then what you have is a slurry. I would suggest you find a slurry tek if you need more information.
