Are my tubs ready for fruiting?

I want to start with a big thank you to everyone on this forum! This is my first (hopefully) successful grow, I could not have done it without you guys! Now, on to my question. I have three trays of Chitwan in a 70/30 Coir/Verm mix. One quart jar of spawn to each tray, one brick of coir and two and a half quarts of verm divided between the trays. I have heard that bulk coir will not colonize to a full white on top. Is this true? Am I ready to introduce my trays to fruiting conditions? My bulk has been colonizing for about 9 days, now.

those are some really poor pictures. try using a flash or some sort of good external lamination, try to set the white balance if you can. from the looks of the last picture though it appears fully colonized or almost fully colonized. coir will fully colonize unless you used a thick top layer. if you evenly mixed it will colonize fully. if you added a very thin top layer up to 1/8th inch but no thicker it will fully colonize. that's in normal circumstances. your mileage will vary. get some better pictures

Better pics coming right up. My casing layer is around a half inch, for the record.

then it will fruit before it get's completely white on top most likely, if you don't have a good liner probably on the sides too.

both. often times when mycelium appears like that on a substrate or a cake it can be indicative of bacterial contamination. hopefully not in his case but if often times seen those two go hand in hand.

I thought you said you already had a casing layer? Or did you mean top Quote:

I just learned this myself cause I just started using top layers, a couple tubs I layed it on too thick and had pins before the top layer fully colonized.
