Possible english active again ?
    #2124587 - 11/20/03 08:19 AM (20 years, 4 months ago)

#

I found some thing simular, if not exactly the same, in the same
wood last year, but search isnt letting me find the thread.
I'll look again in a min but for now, what do you think?
It doesnt resemble any of the active woodlovers that I've
cultivated to closely, i.e
Psilocybe cyanescens
Psilocybe subaeruginosa
or
Psilocybe azurescens
but it does share some charactoristics with them, as
it does with certain strophorias I've found in the same woods.
so again, I'm unsure
Its printing now, but there was a fair bit of slug damage, so
I'm not expecting much. I am going to attempt to clone from the
stem, but of course i used my last stored plates 2 days ago, so
I'm franticly boiling up spuds as i type :]

opps, more details to follow, just a little happy, as I've been searching the wood for this species for months, if not a whole year

Found on elm wood litter(ulmus) on forest floor.

Yes, I've found a few of those in the same woods, but this is pretty different, in that it actually bruised blue. I'm about to
cut the stem up for cloning, so I'll see how much it bruises then,
just in case its the old thing with stropharia aeruginosa were
its blue beneath the white scaly fluff, this speciemine was
devoid of fluff or scales on the steam.

I remember seeing something very similar about 10 years ago growing on woodchips at a sports centre near Bristol but didn't know much about shrooms then.

Have you finished your spuds yet lol ?

Yep :]
Cloned it, but i fear every one is right, on cutting
open the stem, no extra blueing was noticed.
I fear I've been hunting all year for a wild goosec lol.
Still, also cloned some wood blewits today, so not a total loss

I saw a very similar mushroom at a mushroom exhibition and it was identified as Stropharia cyanea:

yes  this thread shows the Stropharia pseudocyanea or Stropharia aeurginosa
I found in the same woods. Pseudo means looks like so you could be
right.
My money is now on the Stropharia pseudocyanea, though these
are really quite varierbal in the same woods.

I need to find the thread were Mr Mushrooms kindly looked at spore
sizing for me, I also have some things pluteus is going to have a look at for me, and i might sneak in the print of these
