Self-Awareness
    #21264401 - 02/12/15 03:31 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Ok, so I had an experience yesterday that I will describe as a true state self awareness, one-ness, being touched by the hand of god, etc, etc. I had smoked some concentrate about an hour or so before so part if the experience was of course due to the psychedelic effects of THC. But that being said, I was far from torched and I use cannabis and concentrates routinely and never felt this sense before. Ive been reading and studying so much about this state and thought that I achieved head spaces that these religious and spiritual teachers describe, but once it occured yesterday, It was similar to nothing ive felt before.

The best way to describe it was as a physical separation, of what I can only say to be the essence or substance of the self, from the body and ego --that which i feel is constantly questioning action. The "self" that was separated felt elevated, like it was doing work from another plane of existence. Once I observed the connection between this non-substance happening of thought and the bodys reaction to it, I realized I was god, along with everything around me, I opened a door that I forgot was there, and it IS possible to live in this state for more than a few moments. I literally just burst out giggling at the irony that the thing ive been studying about, reading, and "searching" for was right in front of me, always was, and always will be.

Dont get me wrong, it was nothing more special than a realization of my roots, or self,  but i see a path now, that didnt exist before because of this momentary state of realization. Its like I got a little baked and a piece of me hasnt come down.

I just wanted to share this and see if anyone has anything theyd like to say, about power of self awareness, or the psychedelic effects of THC.

Cheers:)

THC concentrates tend to bring out dormant schizophrenia, that's what this sounds like to me

I've been meditating for the last two years or so, and over the last week I began experimenting meditation under the influence of cannabis (BC medical concentrates). I find weed acts like a lubricant for your current state of energy. If you are closer in tune with your body (that includes the mind), then you can direct that energy more freely. On the other hand, if you were stuck in your mind then the freeing of the energy can be chaotic and scattered, causing paranoia, racing thoughts, etc... This was the case for much of my 'pothead' days, when all I'd do is smoke weed ALL day. As Bob Marley said, "the herb is meditation" (something along those lines). I use to disagree with him as it had the complete opposite effect for me back then, but now I believe that it can be effective in conjunction with a regular spiritual practice you partake in (same with other entheogens).
I'd also like to add that for most intensive purposes I toke up daily, but only in the evening to help unwind and put me to bed so I can get up early the next day to go to class (not to get high again!)

tldr: the effects of cannabis are dependent upon your state of mindfulness.

Something there is mysteriously formed,
Existing before Heaven and Earth,
Silent, still, standing alone, unchanging,
All-pervading, unfailing,
I do not know its name; I call it tao.
If forced to give it a name, I call it
Great (ta). Being great, it flows out;
Flowing out means far-reaching;
Being far-reaching, it is said to return.

It's just a shot away..
