pf tek "improved" not fruiting - getting impatient..

Greetings,
I searched the forum for answers to my problem but couldnt find the exact response I was looking for..
I did the pf tek method, the improved version as detailed in the Psilocybin Mushroom Handbook (I know, I know.. will not do it again..) It involves wrapping the jars to protect all but the top from light once its ready to fruit so that the shrooms grow straight up I have them placed in a tupperware box, watered and co2 dispersed daily, correct temp and humidity and I have seen nothing for a week.
If they have limited light levels (no grow lights just daylight and light bulbs)would that slow down the fruiting? Are they at risk of contamination the longer we wait? Should we give up with this altered method and empty the jars on a bed of perlite? If the primordia have already started inside the casing layer will turning them upside down on perlite cause them it to rot?
Thanks so much for your time.

So you're fruiting in the jar?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the specific tek. Perhaps I misunderstood.

There we go, I would take out the cakes, put them in a grow chamber of some sort. Did you dunk and roll?

I remember reading that book!! I didnt care for the tek. Not very "improved"
to answer some of your questions...
If they have limited light levels (no grow lights just daylight and light bulbs)would that slow down the fruiting?
no, I only use daylight and it works just fine
Are they at risk of contamination the longer we wait?
No, A fully colonized cake is pretty contam resistant
Should we give up with this altered method and empty the jars on a bed of perlite?
I would. I would go with RR's PF tek videos. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/ watch the BRF Tek.
If the primordia have already started inside the casing layer will turning them upside down on perlite cause them it to rot?
no, pins do not rot. Aborts will rot, but pins wont.
And remember patience is a virtue my friend! Regards and !

Yeah, it's called invitro fruiting, and there's nothing wrong with it. Of course there is however a noticable trend, where there is somewhat of a smaller yield because the are not exactly given the best conditions to fruit, never the less it can be used if you have a god excuse. And I have seen also seen very impressive invitro results.
Seriously though, unless you have a good excuse(or just want to experiment) go get yourself a tub or even a few 2L bottles, put in a few holes, add 5 inches of perlite and voila! Add maybe a good lighting system, and you're way better off.

Thanks for much for your replies kindly people.
I have removed them from the jars, dunked and rolled and placed them on a bed of soaked perlite.
Many Thanks,
Mark

Yeah I dont think it should be called the PF Tek improved.. more like "the PF Tek revised". I dont see where the improvement comes in. I just did the pf tek improved with a quart of grains. Worked decent if you dont want to spawn. Youll definately get some fruits.

mister, i've always thought of this...... can you pack a tub so tight full of jar's fruiting out the top like yours that it acts like a monotub and provides its own humidity? the perlite moisture would barely come up because it would be loaded so tight but the small casing on the top of each jar would also help provide humidity.
seriously, like packed so tight their all touching and you could even turn the tub sideways and each jar wouldent fall over because they're locked in.
lets do it. 30 pf pints in one tub! lol.
even if you only got a few mushrooms per half pint, it will still look like a good pinset and once the mushrooms matured you might not even be able to see the jars below the canopy, thus looking like a big bulk substrate from the top.

YES!
Real thin casing layer instead of dunk and roll
  stacked, side by side
I think i had plenty to work with
