Questions..

I have plenty of fungal related questions poking at my mind.
1. Is a deep uproot of a fruiting body going to kill mycelium present? 2. Is using a food dehydrater(rapid drying) going to hurt alkaline content of the mushrooms? How should I preserve them? 3. If I gather P.Allenii spores and distribute them throughout my urban environment in the redwoods.. Would they grow? 4. I ate 4.2 dried grams of California, cow shit, winter season P. Cintcs. They were not active. Was it how they got dried, or the unfavourable conditions?
I'm positive most of them were the good thing, I may have ate another panelous though. So far not allergic to anything in this world.. Yay

It depends on the size of the mycelium and other factors, but in general this is an un-preferred method for harvesting mushrooms. Most hunters (who aren't working on books and photography) use a mushroom hunting knife. The stem is cut horizontally just above ground surface with a quick incision.

A dehydrator is perfect. Psilocybin and its closely related chemicals are heat sensitive but not too sensitive. Using a dehydrator that has a temperature knob is perfect. You can dry your mushrooms overnight at more or less 105-115 degrees without worry.

Maybe. Maybe not. If I were gambling and this was my method, I'd probably lose. It is best to work with agar and get a mycelium growing that is healthy and uncontaminated. Then transfer sections to sterilized rye bags. These rye bags can be used to spawn sterilized alder chips and alder sawdaust. Once the alder is colonized, it can be transferred to a sacred mushroom patch.

Could they have been a close look-alike instead (perhaps Panaeolina foenisecii)? Most mycophiles don't eat Panaeolus cinctulus (=Panaeolus subbalteatus). The genus Psilocybe offers a more potent opportunity and in my experience, less of a clusterfuck during identification.

They could have been, though they tasted very salty how cincts should. I'm hunting Pans because it's the only mushroom in season, and my sorrounding area. The soil Ph is much too high for psilocybin I read, from the redwoods. I see Gym's, Pluetes, and Pans.
I think my dehydrator is too hot.. It has no temp control and it reads as fast drying in hours not days.

I'm tech capable to a certain extent, PC and other sorts of OS modifying and hardware. I'm just starting to read up on making a thermostat control for my current system(; I can do that for 15 bucks or so. Until then, If I go get more Subbs, what method of drying should I use until my dehydrator is tits? I heard about silica gel, car trunks.. Paper towels etc. what's efficient and simple? It doesn't have to be fast. I'm patient. Just not hard on the wallet at the moment.
I wonder if wrapping my mushrooms would help keep them cooler in the dehydrator..

1. Collect the mushrooms in the field using a clean, breathable tupperware container.
2. When you return home, use a colander (or strainer) and briefly rinse them off under cold water. (This method assumes you've used a mushroom hunting knife to harvest the mushrooms so no substrate is on the base of the stipes).
3. Place the mushrooms onto clean aluminum foil and make sure they aren't touching or stacked.
4. First air dry your collection using a fan and make sure they are secure so they don't blow off the aluminum foil as they dry and become lightweight.
5. After a few hours your mushrooms should be somewhat dehydrated but not fully dry.
6. Pre-heat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the oven has reached this temperature, turn it OFF. Crack the oven door open. Wait five minutes.
7. Place the aluminum foil and mushrooms in the middle oven rack and leave the door cracked. In 10-20 minutes (depending on the size and hydration level of the collection) your mushrooms should now be "cracker dry" (like a Triscuit. You can verify this by easily snapping a stipe in half.

Say I get impatient, I want to eat a level 3 dose fresh. Not dried. The above website says 1 ounce of fresh ones. How fucked would I be if I followed the advice? Would that be just to much, sensory overload?
Just want enough to change my thought process, and make me stop craving cigarettes. I'm not entirely interested in tripping balls.

Don't be impatient. That could lead to a fuck-up.

The Shroomery has a long-standing calculator for these types of questions. I cannot make a recommendation on dosage.

There are literally therapeutic guides written by therapists in regard to using psychedelics. There's also an article about quitting cigarettes on TIME Magazine: http://time.com/3399433/quit-smoking-psychedelic-drugs-acid-test/
I'd ask the corresponding author or one of the co-authors of that journal publication.
