Hi there Sir did you get germination? I received my Galindoi print from the approved vendors two months ago of course you know a Galindoi print is tiny. So I decided to try my hand at agar so that I can conserve my print. I made up some agar plates using baby food jars. I dropped some spores onto the agar exactly one week ago I had to toss out a few jars because a few contaminated. However I do have a few which I think have germinated spores. I can see where the black dots are (dry spores) where I dropped the spores. And about 4 days after knocking up the agar it went "gelly" around the knock points. Then it became fuzzy around them. Now I've got little cotton ball puffs they dont seem to be growing across the plate like I expected. But then again this wasn't mycelium to agar. This was a dry spore to Agar. I have scoured the internet to get a picture so that I can compare them with what I sould he seeing but to no avail. I will upload pic as soon as possible, could this be due to my agar recipe? Mois (I have to setup my SAB first) I thought its maybe cobweb mold but I really have no clue. Secondly if they are proper spore germinations and not contams. How do I transfer to another plate? Thank you in advances guy. Peace.

No germination on any of the things I tried. Agar, WBS,BRF all still showing no growth. Well a couple of the petri's eventually contaminated, but most are still sitting still with no activity. :/

Thanks for your reply. I've been researching the entire day. I just had a quick squizz at paul stamets mushroom cultivator for edible and medicinal mushrooms. There's a small chapter about germinating spores on agar plates. Ideally I should have streaked them in an "S" shape however I just scraped them using a sterile needle and dropped onto the plate. It's been just over a week and I'm not seeing contamination. Except the pure white cotton balls. If I look below I see the black spore spot. I assume that if this is not mycelium but instead contamination then it means either my noc tool. Or my spores were dirty? If this is mycelium what am I transferring? Where are the sectors? Or do I transfer a piece of the cotton balls onto another agar plate and then wait for Rhizo growth? Thanks in advance folks. P.S this is my first attempt at this hobby. I'm skipping PF tek because, supplies are not easy to come by where I'm from. I've prepped myself over the last 18 months to perform agar and grain (rye) teks. I could do PF but then I'd need to get tapered mason jars. More verm and BRF. Again thanks.

Just wait a bit longer. My spots germinated, and some of the plates still have that cotton ball look. If I hold it up to the light at an angle I can see a matte look on the agar thats shaped like rhizo strands. My other plates had that, then quickly grew thick mycelium in those places.

Hey suspekt33 don't say the name of the seller when talking about cultivation. We buy spores for MICROSCOPY.
