If different colors elicit different emotions, what about different droning pitches?
    #21246432 - 02/09/15 02:26 AM (9 years, 3 months ago)

So some folks claim that blue calms people, red aggrivates, orange confuses, etc.

how about different pitches?

Kicking it with a lady and i hear this constant ringing. she say he hears it too, suggests its the heater but I dont think it is. Its a steady ring, i whistle a matching pitch.

i pick up a guitar and realize its a constant droning of D, kinda high pitched. I don't feel particularly weird, but i wondered if anyone has ever tested if droning different pitches has different effects on people.

I know they have sonic weapons and shit, and theres that episode of X files where people are hearing this frequency that forces them west till their heads explode.

apparently MIT did a study and tinfoil hats DO NOT WORK. will turmeric be enough to block out the interdimentional mindcontrol microwaves? or should i just swollow more toothpaste than usual.

TL;DR:

Do different pitches droned elicit different emotions?

and or thread derailing competition. but PLZ NO VIDEOS. i hate dat shit.

I play didgeridoo. Most people feel a bit agitated when I play, but when I start producing overtones everyone, including me, calms down by a lot.

I'd say sounds are more universal because they actually interact with our own frequencies. If you look in to the relation between colours and emotions you will find it's entirely dependant on culture. It kind of reminds me of the old wive's tale that red pisses bulls off. Yet they're colour blind. In a sense. I remember my grade 4 teacher tried arguing that fact with me. She was even arguing that diachromatic wasn't a word. With a 4th grader. I got sent to the office for 'being a disturbance' and then they gave me detention.

Yep. And they wondered why I didn't like school.

Same thing happened to me in grade 2 over the word 'obliterate.' I'm proud of that one.

I remember when those were the thing and everyone wanted to try 'God's Hand' but everyone was scared. Good times.

I once refused to give up my stance that bacteria are not plants at all.
The biology teacher must have gotten confused since cyanobacteria also photosynthesise, but come on.
I had to spend a week doing janitorial duties after class, the bastards.

it was just a steady drone, kinda like a hearing test, but it was steady for hours.

i've heard of binaural beats, but what about specific pitches (A-440hz for example) droned for an hour or more?
