Welcome!
It does seem a little nippy but that didn't seem to stop the actives last year! It's all about that humidity. Haha.
It'll pick up soon, though. Good luck with hunting!!

Gyms loose potency if you dry them and taste terrible. Your best bet is to make tea while they are fresh and freeze it, should be good for a couple years. Any more pics that are in focus?

Thanks for the tip blue-fun guy. These mushrooms definitely seem to vary a lot in potency so it's probably best just to make a brew anyways. Unfortunately that's all I can seem to find

Yeah and I should've been more specific when I said right now these ones are from 2015 about two weeks back before the cold front and I'm in Martin county . Unfortunately it seems like all I can find since I'm From Cali not Florida and don't have any good fields yet. They seem to love chilling under the palm trees in hardwood chips

Negative, sir. I would go with Trametes or Stereum...I do see one that reminded me of an old Phyllotopsis tho. Dunno if you got an underside shot for that one.

The first one might be... the second looks like a Lacymaria sp the next one (white one) might be Trametes elegans Then a cool Lichen then the last three look like Stereum... maybe S.ostreatus ostrea ( lol, sorry. I've got Oysters on the brain, apparently )

Went for a walk and checked on a reishi patch the other day, but there were no actives in sight.

Panaeolus antillarum

Ganoderma lucidum curtisii (?)

Waited too long to come back for that first Reishi, won't make the same mistake with this next one!
EDIT:
In the Ganoderma patch I found, the fruit bodies were growing amongst leaf litter on the roots of a very large Quercus virginiana (live oak). All of the mature specimens were kidney shaped with deep red caps and fairly short stems. The younger specimens I've seen from this patch seem to stay white at the tips of the cap, then yellow, then red at the base of the stem. However, they don't necessarily appear "banded".

If im not mistaken, G.lucidum is the European species. I think ours is G.curtisii....? Correct me if im wrong please.
Apparently there is some debate on this subject still.... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganoderma_curtisii anyone know anything new??

Oh cool, I had no clue! So would the larger "Reishi" found in the northern states also be G.curtisii?
It's somewhat confusing to me because of the information given on this page: Wiki
"Ganoderma lucidum generally occurs in two growth forms. One is found in North America and is sessile and rather large with a small or nonexistent stalk, while the other is smaller, has a long, narrow stalk, and is found mainly in the tropics. However, many growth forms exist that are intermediate to the two types, or even exhibit very unusual morphologies,[8] raising the possibility that they are separate species."
I read about that a while ago, and I've seen both forms of growth, so I've always assumed that they were just the same species in different habitats.
Most of Wikipedia's sources are old though. I'd love to hear anything up to date about it.

From what I know, G.lucidum is a European name. So the two similar in N.A. I would think are two in the same complex of species... I'd lo e to see if anyone has DNA on the three! I bet McCloudy could cleat this up a bit...
