Old spore syringes
    #2123879 - 11/19/03 10:57 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

My buddy was cleaning out his garage and found some old spore syringes along with some other supplies. They are about 5-6 months old and were stored in an unrefrigerated dark place. Normally it's not much of a problem but since he's in Cali it's hard to obtain them. Anyone know if these things are still good?

I've had syringes that were forgot about for over a year and the were fine, but mine were keep indoors. It might have gotten to hot in the garage and killed the spores, but it won't hurt to try.

Try it and see. If you'd like to try it and not waste any grain, use 1cc in some karo water. See what grows.

I had a couple of syringes in my fridge during a hiatus that I took for about a year. They were fine and actually are growing right now. Sorta slow to colonize, that's all.

I have used some well over a year old and that were even frozen.
Little slower...but still good.
