Got it off of ebay. Don't remember the seller's name, specifically, but he was a pleasure to transact with.
This stirplate was 95$, but made him an offer and he let it go for 75$! The next stirplate purchased will be from FungiPerfecti. Those crrazy-ass stirbars they have are in the cross-hairs also.

Yeah, curious as well. How are you gonna clean the inoculation gun? I was looking at that and it said it couldn't be autoclaved.
Easy. IF the device doesn't come with comprehensive instructions on how to clean it, the device will be sanitized the same way that recycled syringes are cleaned. Will there's a will, there's a way.

So ham are you saying you don't use silicon ports? Do you prefer to just crack the lid and put the syringe in that way?
Just made up my first batch last night with some Pan. Nondiluted WBS from 24 hour soak, no boil. Used a pretty small wedge. Hopefully that doesn't slow it down much. Is the general rule of thumb two weeks until it is ready? Or do you guys prefer to let it clear up and see some myc in there?

Dude my last syringes were FULL of visible myc No fuckin port or filter or anything I've found that the more diluted they are, the better Your LC is way too dark for my likings but I'm not saying it won't work Of course too much dilution isn't great either

Yeah it probably is. But I saw how dark hams were so I decided to just leave it. Sounds like they clear up as the myc digests it. Not sure how much though.

How much it clears depends a lot on how strong you made it initially.
So my wheat LC has cleared considerably. I am going to inoculate a test plate, but I am quite confident in how it will turn out. Lots of inoculate here

Just inoculated another wheat LC, this one was undiluted and is so dark it resembles coffee. Just barely can make out some growth.

No, I don't use injection ports. Self healing injection ports' place in mushroom cultivation is for the inoculation of sterile substrates in open air. I prefer to crack the lid of my LC's to inoculate them, but I have a flowhood. My flowhood is what allows for me to comfortably remove the closures of my liquid media vessels with out worry of contamination. Looks like this highly anticipated stainless steel liquid inoculation gun is intended to operate without the lid on the LC during inoculations.
The size of the wedge, or amount of live liquid mycelium you inoculate your liquid media with doesn't dictate the rate of colonization, or recovery time AT ALL. The amount of exponential expansion of the culture in liquid media is imminent no matter how much culture you inoculate your liquid media with. With those principles in mind, I prefer to inoculate liquid mediums with the least amount of live culture as humanly possible.

Thanks hamloaf. So if I am using an SAB do you think I should use the injection port or crack the lid? Unfortunately I don't foresee myself getting a flowhood anytime soon.
Also how often should I "Swirl" my LC around? I am using felt for GE. So I can't really shake it or the filter will get wet.
Thanks.

When using a SAB, the choice is yours, really. When I was in a SAB, I'd just crack the lid.
"Swirling" your LC by hand does nothing. Sounds like you have yourself between a rock and a hard place with the using of the ez-felt as your filtering material of choice, and only having an SAB to do your LC work in.
If I got thrust into your situation and was told to deal with it, I would not let the culture colonize too greatly and aspire the culture while it's small so better chances are had that the culture will fit into the syringes, and get some 12 gauge, blunt dispensing needles to aspire that culture with too.

Yesterday 3 more 1 inch magnetic stirbars that I ordered came in the mail, so I pulled the rye water of the freezer, thawed it, and made three pint sized LC's filled with 500ml's of diluted to 4% end of the boil-cycle grain water, slapped on a few media closures fitted with SFD for filtration (no injection ports) onto the vessels, and sterilized the mediums for 45 minutes at 17psi's. I did.
The stirbars and stirplate allow for more liquid medium to be placed into the media vessel at once, enabling the culture to be stirred comfortably with utterly NO threat of getting the filter wet. Onward and upward into the next level of liquid culturing techniques with the door being slammed shut, and locked tight behind ME!
These liquid mediums are scheduled to be inoculated either later today, or tomorrow morning with freshly germinated, clean atl#7 culture on sterilized, nutrified agar media in a petri dish. True story.

Cool. What is an "Oak" LC. Like oak woodchip soak water, or something? Also, what is your choice of inoculm, live culture, spores, fruit body tissue???
I mean, what kind of lids and filtration are you using? Will you be using gaskets, broken glass? What is your liquid culturing media vessel(s) going to be?

Very well then. What's your plans for all that LC?
Your undiluted wheat LC sounds like the description of my undiluted Red Milo LC.
Undiluted Red Milo GWLC before the shake.

Undiluted Red Milo GWLC after the shake.

Undiluted Red Milo GWLC aspired into 12cc Monoject syringes equipped with inch and half long, 14 gauge needle.

Undiluted Red Milo GWLC freshly inoculated into sterilized Red Milo grainmaster jars.
I have a thing to where I like to match the GW culturing media to the grain scheduled to be used for grain spawn. It's the strong opinion of this cultivator that making a GWLC out of the same grain you are scheduled to use as grain spawn creates a stronger culture due to the mycelium being accustomed to the source of nutrition of the grains already.

Yep my wheat looks just like yer milo
As for my plan for this LC and all the others I am making, I would rather not say right now. I am working on something that requires a liquid form of inoculate and much testing is required before I post it.

Yessir. I documented the making of my WBS GWLC media a few pages back. In fact a few posts up thread I made 5 WBS GWLC. 2 are quarts. One is in pint, and the other 2 WBS GWLC's are in gallon sized media vessels. ALL with magnetic stirring capabilities.
The gallons and quart that were sterilized at the same time like 4 days ago have been inocualted with blue Oyster LC.
The 3 WBS GWLC that were inoculated last week are colonizing and have been stirred with the magnets a couple of days ago. Again, that action is documented on the last page or so. Stirbar action and all.

Oat,
Agar to LC, Oak woodchip soak water would probably work though, SHIPs and Whatmans, same jars I got from Outgrow pre-sterilized, I always just give my culture a good shake, never needed stir bars or any of that, Vessels are two regular mouth 1/2 pint jars.
Inoculating tonight and then I'll get some pics up.
