how to make a sterile place for shrooms to colonize?

I made my first batch of pf tek jars and 1 survived out of 5 jars.here's a pic
All my jars got contaminated with black mold and cobweb.I thought the cobweb was spore colonizing till I open the jar and it had greywhite fuzz on top with black mold starting to grow. just to make sure it not cobweb growing in the pic do spore grow outward in a line and look kinda root like? I know now cobweb grows zigzag and is see through and grows really fast. I also made a second batch of 7 jars on Feb 1. Lost one To cobweb. I place the second batch jars with the the survivor inside a desk here's a pic what can I do to help spores colonize without getting contamination. I had first batch of jars in a messy room and just clean up(contamination because messy room).second batch jar are 6 days old and first batch survivor is 10 days old. I stem sterilize all jars for 90 min and cool for a night when Inoculated. So now I have a clean room but still scared of contamination and putting jars inside desk doesn't feel right but it the only way to hide it from my parents. Is there a easy to keep them some where sterile and away from air pollution.

As long as the filter (dry verm layer in the case of PF tek) dose its job there is no need to colonise in sterile conditions. I notice one of your jars is on it's side. That will disrupt the verm layer allowing contams in. Put them on a flat surface at room temperature and try not to move them.

Not alot of people here are going to help you since you said hiding from your parents.. Wait til you got your own place.
You dont need to incubate, nor make a sterile area for your jars to colonize, throw them on a shelf with ambient light and let them sit. Do not turn them on the side..
Your filter is the dry verm layer at the top, no need to overthink it..
You shouldnt put your parents at risk just because you want a cheap high. Wait til you got your own place

My advice would be to wait until you move out your parents house so you don't have to hide that from them. I'm sorry man, that's just disrespectful. You're probably to young to be here anyway.

How are you planning on fruiting these if you can't even leave your jars out?
I could only imagine what my parents would have thought if they came into my room to find a SGFC

You should not be doing this in someones home without their permission. You are asking for trouble and potentially bringing negative attention to our community.

I recently inoculated a few jars for the first time and Im 100% sure contams will run rapid through a few.
with the parents id recommend getting a few oyster LCs since they are easy growers and edible. after a few grows under your belt and shows your interest in mycology to the parents when they see blue, pink and golden oysters come through then do your grow and it wont arise suspicion.

Id say wait till you have your own place or an outdoor grow. BUT.. if you must that is how I would approach it.

Now's a good time to read and learn and ask questions.
Growing oyster mushrooms is a legal and good way to learn. You can share your experience with your parents. If they question it, you can show them the difference between oysters and actives to gain there trust. Many natural and health food stores carry oysters so you can show them it's the same thing and perfectly legal.
Once you get in the right living arrangement, it's an easy transition to actives because they grow the same way.

The plus side to growing oysters is they're super fast and aggressive, and they eat some contaminants for breakfast. The minus is the heavy spore load which can contaminate other substrates.
So this is a perfect time to practice with none of the negatives. Thanks for being cool, OP.

Op, grow some reishi or other edibles and get familiar with general mycology before you get your ass beat by your mom and dad I think that is a good idea..
