Well the Mazatapec looks a bit milky which is a sign of bacteria but that could just be glair in the picture. The PR looks totally fucked though. See the way the mycelium is all balled up and all that yellow liquid is metabolites. Both signs of a bad bacterial problem.

Fuck This really sucks, I can't afford more spores for a few weeks. Would bacterial issues point to my jar prep or screw ups in my sterile procedures inoculating? Again...FUCK

It could be a lot of things. Contaminated syringe, Improper sterilisation, poor sterile technique at inoculation, too wet grains. There is tons of room for error in this hobby. You should look into agar. Then one syringe can last you a life time.

Thanks Muda. I did some agar glad rounds off Pasty's tek, same ms syringes though, no growth yet, but it's only been 2 days. If the Puerto Ricans are bad, can I use a grain of them to transfer to agar and isolate it from contams or is it too late? Again, thanks

Perfect...time to get started, I'm a science geek, love this stuff. One last question... I have 4-5 cc's left of mazatapec and Brazilian left, what would my best plan of action be for them?

I would put a couple drops on agar. and just store the rest. I haven't inoculated anything with a spore syringe in a very long time.

Thanks! I thought it was bacteria too. The pic of the maz looks fuzzy/fluffy. The PR.. I see what you mean by balled up. That's something I've never heard to look for.

Definitely some amber colored liquid in the bottom of one of the PR jars. Thanks again Muda, I'm learning what to look for. Since they're written off, I'm gonna quarantine them and mini mono them tonight expecting nothing

Ok, prepped some coir/verm according to Damion5050, dunked the grains according to Mr. Frank, and we'll see. The two jars smelled fantastic when I opened them, nothing but wonderful earthy mushroom smell.

It's good to see someone with so few posts sniff testing their jars. You must have done a lot of reading.
