And that's a great trick with the circle VDG! I've checked out this plate again and again, and apparently the 6 o'clock sector you see in the pic is actually just wash-out from the flash. It isn't a "perfect" circle but there's definitely no indentation in that spot that I can see in person
Unfortunately, I'm way too busy this week to prep grains so I went ahead and transferred a few nice wedges just to buy some time and let some other plates catch up.
