Best containers for sclerotia cultivation

Gathering some info on the subject, and wanted to know what other peoples thoughts are. I've heard that pint jars are worthless for cultivation and the quart jars are far from optimal, but will suffice.
Looking at the 1/2 gal mason jar and wondered if anyone else has gone that route. Also contemplating spawn bags, but w/o a flow hood (cabinet), I'm not sure this is the right direction to look.
Thoughts?

Just spawn to bulk and harvest them from tupperwear containers.

Could you fruit ATL#7 for example in a normal mono, break apart the sub after fruiting finishes and find stones?

Why are pint jars worthless and quarts far from optimal? I've played with them on both, as well as spawn bags and they all came out nice.
On half-pint jars too one time on a rushed short notice camping trip... easy peasy

I've only done small scale bulk grows with stone producers but I would imagine the same rules apply. Commercial stone producers use spawn bags.

They also use walk in autoclaves and killer cultures that produce quick. I don't see why jars wouldn't work. I've seen half gallons work.

Oh you know how it goes. You read thousands of threads and little bits of info stick with you. For the life of me I can't remember what thread it was in, but there was mention of truffles doing much better in larger containers. It might have even been in a thread where they talked about adding dividers or some other foreign object in the jar/bag to increase the surface areas that truffles could grow on.

Yeah, blackout was talking about that "interfacing." He mentioned fruiting bags, but flattening them out a little like a pancake so there's more plastic surface for the sclerotia to develop against. The theory was that if you threw some marbles, or similar, it could imitate the same effect more.
