How can I make liquid inoculation using a pasty plate? I thought I found a tek somewhere, but cannot find it. I believe it just involved squirting sterile water into the plate and vigorously mixing it and voila!
Any help on this?
Watch the videos in my signature its in there. How to use a SAB

Alright so my mini rounds are colonizing nicely. The hole had to be made larger for the tyvek my first round in the pc all crushed from the cool down so I re made some with larger tyvek breather holes, much much larger and everything went smooth.

I was thinking I could pc my blender base and pc some water jars then dump my plate in the water(actually grain water) then blend it up and re lid them with new pcd lids, Iknow it is one too many steps/vectors but what do you guys think?

That sounds like absolute hell to deal with. You should just buy an Oster blender and a regular mouth 1/2 pint jar and you're set. Seriously, it's like $20 tops and about 353757x easier to deal with.
PC distilled water in 1/2 pint with blender blade inside jar. Put in SAB to cool. Slice out agar in SAB and drop into 1/2 pint blender jar. Blend and inoculate whatever.
It's that easy.

You guys are awesome. And fyi my pastyplates stay with condensation all through colonizing. Oh well, my hats off to mister pasty for this tek because I was able to get my feet wet with agar.. oh how sweet it is!

The trick is to shake and tip out the excess condensation at/just befor inoculation.

So sort of like a LI / LC sort of thing? Grain water would just offer extra nutrients which isn't really needed for a LI, however if you plan on making a LC then sure. Unless I am missing something?
Personally I am not too sure whether that is worth it really. From what I have heard and seen (never tried a proper LI yet myself) it colonizes quick enough. If you had to wait for the myc to colonize further in the LC slurry it would just be time wasted which could have gone to the myc colonizing the jars.
So after being unable to find a suitable and reasonably priced blender I decided to order an Oster ice crusher blade assembly. Then I will silicone it to one of my jar lids and use a drill with a square drill bit piece as the motor to blend the cakes. Hope it work properly!

I stack my pasty plates in a 27qt tote at room temperature for about a week before I use them. By the time I use them there is no condensation.

Stacking during colonization is fine right?
I haven't for fear of contams/GE issues.

yah stacking is fine. If I couldn't stack my plates, they would take up every shelf and counter top in my house.

Do you have to dump out water pooling on the inside?

It's that easy.
That's what I was gonna do my blender isn't an Oster but the base fits small mouth jars. The only extra step would be the new PC'd lids.

I've started putting SFD lids on some of my 1/2 pint LI jars for storage after blending. I haven't been doing it long enough to know how long they can be stored for but it should work out OK.

is it strange im not seeing ANY contams in my pasty plates? I made a batch of 8, inoculated 2 with grains, did 6 transfers, and no contams in anything? I find it hard to believe.. lol
The condensation is a pain in the ass though, it is potentially the fluctuation in temp in the room. The winter really screws any steady temperatures up.
