Classical music mixed with electronics?
    #21230554 - 02/05/15 01:21 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

I stumbled upon a Mozart piece mixed in with some tekno stuff and its pure genius. It sounds so good that I had to make this thread to ask if anyone of you guys know of other similar pieces. This is sick.

Nice man. This is the type of techno that I like. It has that like pre-young retard bro scene ruiner vibe to it. I like fast stuff like this.

No, I don't recall that one.

Arvo Part - Fratres for Violin and Piano (Beats Antique remix)

The original piece is better of course, but I still like this.

To BurkeDennings,

Hi burke, I'm underfliptown. I was hoping that you could tell me the genre of the original song posted because I heard you have some experience with electronic music. I hope that I am asking you in an appropriate manner because I know how confusing forums can be. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you get back to me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Underfliptown

Confused in Underfliptown,

The song in the OP belongs to a genre called "happy hardcore".  It's real fast bpm with lots of vocal samples (ie. "IN THE MIX!") and plenty of cheesy (I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way) samples, such as lilting piano stuff, synth stabs, and just real happy, upbeat melodies.  It's kinda the light side of the coin to regular hardcore and gabber, which can be dark and commonly will specifically invoke satan.

Is there a medium between hardcore and happy hardcore. I typically find happy hardcore to be a little kitsch, and hardcore always has that annoying ass synth sound in it (the really high one). I like gabber, but sometimes it's just a little much.

I'd say try hard style or hard house, specifically the latter. Maybe even hard trance.
