Ethnosmith's Kratom Grow Log

Hey guys, this is my first attempt at growing a plant of any kind. I only have one kratom plant (bumblebee strain) so I have a fairly small setup until I get more plants in. This one was started from a cutting.
This is Day 1.
This is Day 7.

Any experienced kratom growers want to weigh in if he looks healthy? He sure likes 24 hour light and a lot of water.

Looks awesome!
Everything looks healthy
I've been cultivating for almost 6 months now so my inexperience can't be too helpful but I will try!
My biggest problem is its winter up here and I had to bring them inside and I put them under some k6500 floros and at 8 hour intervals burned the shit out of them.
Right now I'm at a 6 hour interval so hopefully they come back

And lots of fertilizer. Go heavy. Kratom seems to love it alot too. Take it from a guy with a tree.

Thanks so much guys I can't wait to get more strains . What is a good fertilizer type? I am very new to growing in general. Would it be a monthly application?

I would definitely wait until it's well established to fertilize, a good soil mix should be sufficient until it gets a bit older.

If it's growing, and it's doing that, it should be fed.
Give coffee grounds and miracle gro and anything else you can get your hands on. You can do like a slow release with pellets or dissolve some MG full strength. Feed weekly.

Thanks guys for the tips . Here are some updated pics. Hope to have some other strains in soon. For now, still just this guy . Not sure if it is allowed, but if someone else has a mature tree and would like to discuss cuttings, please pm me.

No, it's not really allowed.
Please read the forum rules so you don't break them, causing me work in the process, Thanks>>>https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7399068

Thats interesting.
If you don't mind me asking why not?
we trade prints and live cultures over through this site I don't see the difference
Not trying to be obstinate Im just curious, as one just beginning to delve into the cultivation of ethnobotanicals myself.

ethnosmith,
I'm pretty sure you can trade kratom cuttings in the marketplace if it's legal in your state: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/43
I don't see it on the list of forbidden items: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5884683#5884683

Read the rules for clarification. They sum it up well enough as to why we don't allow it.
Basically, we don't want this forum being dominated by source requests. We have a marketplace for that.

Sorry for the mistake and thanks for the rules clarification guys. Have another update for you guys ! A bit off topic, but also excited about my tequila sunrise peppers sprouting that I planted last week, and my desert rose is flowering. The plant food, 24hour light, and ample water continues to make this Kratom very happy !

That baby is just going to keep getting bigger and nicer. Small habitats can't contain them for long. You got that baby inside?

You have plans for moving him outside at some point? I doubt an indoor setup will contain your tree for much longer than a few months to a year unless you let him go rootbound and stop his growth

That worries me. Most people want to grow kratom who really can't. There is just times you cant. Hell I know I sent kratom to people who should not really grow thwm and I tell my self 'they'll find a way' but it's hard with such a voracious feeder.
My tree, richard, was in a huge pot, but I mean big, well... take a look.

No your eyes don't deceive you. It's root bound. It had a root coming out of every drain hole the diameter of an index finger and it just kept getting worse until I picked a spot in my yard and now he is happily growing into a nice tree.i don't want to discourage you ethnosmith but there will come a time when you gotta decide what you want to do with it. If your situation allows grow it in the ground. No better place.im sure you could grow in side for a while but soon it will need room to spread its roots.

No worries guys. I only keep him inside for now. I plan to move him outside in a large pot in a couple months. Once I reach around a year, I plant to transplant it outside and start cloning it. My location allows for year round great weather for it .
