I didn't say it had no effect. I said it is not the reason for their current plight.

"humanity advancing innovations"
But fine, some African inventions are most stone age tools that lead to the conquest of the world by apes, cattle herding, buildings that where made from more then just random crap laying around (mud houses, fucking pyramids, that sort of thing.). Also the first musical instruments where probably brought out of Africa by the migration waves.
Sub-Saharan Africa has had numerous kingdoms, some pretty advanced tech for irrigation and whatnot, clever architecture, many religions and cultures, all sorts of weapons that where on equal footing, if not superior, to European weapons until gunpowder became a big thing.
At least one of these kingdoms provided a lot of crusaders for the Christian cause, too.
*** A mistake a lot of westerners seem to make is that they see Africa as if it's a unified place. It's not. It is a fucking huge place with more cultural diversity then North and South America COMBINED. When you think of Africa, do you see a little village with huts, half naked people and starving children? Then you have been had, my friend. That is not Africa, just as Cape Town, Cairo and Dakar are not Africa.
I can go on and on about this, even though I promised myself I wouldn't say a word and just laugh at the fools. Go read a book, man. Or a library full of books. Things are not what they seem, and what you have been taught is clearly wrong.
The best education is to go to several nations yourself. I have been to Senegal and the Cape Verde Islands myself, and let me tell you, the stereotypes are not true at all. They are the same people you see everywhere in this world, really.

It's so sad how the people in this thread are actually just waaaaaayy to lazy to check for facts by themsleves. the lazy ones say I didn't present any facts here but I did. Albeit with a funny skit from a South African comedian. But still destroyed the whole stereotype of Afrika.
It's like they want Africa to do badly. Thing is investors are the ones now looking at the big picture not these Africa haters
For example kfc and dominoes have now opened fast food joints here and Macdonalds is in the process and their business here is thriving. They are actually investors from the west who say they have more opportunities in Africa then they ever would back overseas.
All they are doing is confirming my diagnosis of them in spades. But I'm done arguing with them. The only person that wins an Internet argument is ignorance. I do have hoe that some day they will take a positive interest in Africa and any other country really.
Oh as for inventions by the way 4 Nigerian girls, who most narrow minded people here would call poor, invented the first urine powered generator.
Don't beleive me? GOOGLE it. Like actually use that tool for what it was invented for to open doors to knowledge.

I'm a bit fed up with Holland. The weather sucks, always, nature are PLANTED forests, neat rows of trees, and the people are annoyed spoiled brats grown up. I could use a change of scenery.
Live small, have fun, do some good for the people around you.
Nothing outrageous at all. For 800 dollars a month you could rent a 2-3 bedroom apartment which cost about 400 dollars and about 30 dollars on electricity and water depending on how much you use. And the rest on whatever you desire.
Food here can range between 2-20 dollars at a restaurant depending on where you go A full bag of fruits could cost between 10 dollars or 20 depending on if they are imported and by full bag I mean like a load of 7kgs full of fruits and vege's
5 kilos of meat would cost you again between 15-25 dollars And chicken about 3 dollars for one whole chicken.
That's just off the top of my head.
There's also some really sick raves that go on here.
As you can see it's pretty multicultural here! So you'll feel right at home

Oh really? I was always told that Kenya was cheap compared to the west? In anycase this estimates are for like top stuff here so it can be more cheaper depending on how you convert those dollars to shillings.
The shopping I know can last upto 2 weeks and again im using those estimates as considering for 2-3 people.
But yeah those are all just guesstimates.

800 for 2 bedroom apartment? Ouch. With that you could rent a nice house actually. Atleast depending on where you exactly in Nairobi you get it. Any higher then that and you'd be living like stars and politicians do in the west. 3000$ a month you get some pretty crazy huge house and mansions!

Yeah American dollars.
3000$ would get you a 5 bedroom mansion sometimes with a swimming pool and def with a big ass yard.
Also with that same 3000$ You can get a 5 bedroom apartment all ensuite rooms and full security, a local gym and swimming pool...hmmm I think it would be less then 3000 actually.
800$ for a parking space!!? But why?

You can get a 2Br house here for $600/mo out in the country 10 minutes from town.
My mortgage is less than $600/mo for a 2Br,1Ba with 2 car garage which I'm converting into a 1Br 1Ba.
Main house is 850 ft2 garage is 650 ft2. Almost 2 acres.
I did get a pretty good deal right as the market bottomed out, tho.
