Brain Farmer, if a everyones Ecuadorians are real then they are all P. subcubensis. Out of 27 collections deposited at several herbariums in Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and harvard, all were Identified as Psicloybe subcubensis.
mj
The only digfference in them from P. cubensis is the spores are slightly smaller.

Since the only thing that distinguishes Ps.subcubensis from Ps.cubensis is spore size, you probably have one or two strains that are subcubensis. Ofcourse, the basic principle that one microscopic feature doesnt automatically suggest a delineation of two distinct species is important to consider.

Hey Mj
im curious about subcubensis If the only difference is spore size then how are we to be sure it really exists as a separate entity? Have compatibility tests been done on single spore isolates? Ive looked at many cubensis spores under the microscops and i remmeber noting tha the Wild specimens i collected around midginbil hill in New south wales, Australia were significantly larger than all the commercial stocks i had access to I can dig up the results if its of interest
