SGFC location?

So in a week or two i'll have to birth my cakes, and i have my SGFC ready. Just a few questions though; is DIRECT sunlight for a few hours a day bad? I plan on putting it in front of a large window in my room and it's pretty sunny through it for at least an hour or two every day. Also, this will be in my bedroom, which is not sterile to say the least...should i be worried about contaminants when misting/fanning etc.? or will the mycelium be established enough to be fine?

Once you allowed the cake to consolidate for one week before birthing, no amount of air contams is going to hurt a healthy cake. I wouldn't put it in the sunny window, it isn't needed and will probably just dry the cakes out. Bright are, but not so sunny

I say go ahead and put it in the window. A 12/12 light cycle is preferred but if it only gets a few hours of actual sunlight thats good too.

I can put it off to the side of my desk where the light may not bash it as much. Is rotation of the SGFC important as well? So that all sides get equal light?

I have mine next to a sunny window and my cakes are staying very moist. You could always move it if you find it too drying.

sounds like a good idea, i'll do that. also, it's a possibility that i won't be home for a day or two during the fruiting process. is it the end of the world if the SGFC isn't misted/fanned for a day or two?

I have wondered similar questions too. If I have my sgfc in a room with windows should I block sunlight from coming in if using an artificial light? Like 12/12 flowering of mj?

It's fine to have natural sunlight coming in if you are also running artificial light.

Nope, good to go. Give her a generous misting/fanning before you leave.
