if u/ur friend/ur family/ur neighbor has a dog or a cat, use 10g dry kibble food, 10g agar powder, and 500ml water. thats seriously the easiest recipe i have ever used, and have not had a species or strain yet that didn't like it. dog and cat food have so many ingredients and so many different kinds of nutrients (fats, proteins, carbs, etc) that it would surprise me if a culture did not respond well to it.
i don't know much about grain water. i used to use it more, but was mixing it with malt extract. so not sure on dilutions. maybe pasty or violet would know better.
I would not use cat food as cats eat mostly meat.

I want to know this too. I just bought a pound of GLME and I already have potato starch, dextrose, and nutritional yeast. I've read that rotating your agar media is good so I'd like to get DFA down so I have one more agar recipe to use.

OK. A few slices of "weak" agar have been tranfered to mixed agar with (hopefully) proper nutes. I mixed 3.5g agar with 3.5 potato flakes and a drop of honey in 250ml of water.

he probably left the pc cool down completely before removing them.
I always remove my plates hot, so they can cool on the level countertop.

So are you guys talking about pre-made agar or home made? For instance I use this agar:

Would I need to make amendments to this?

I fell asleep once with 8 plates in my PC.
Woke up at 2 am, jumped out of bed, ran to my kitchen, opened the ice fucking cold PC and the top 4 had their agar solidy on the fucking sides.
SO pissed.
Used them anyway.

There are two products on that page. With one you'd have to supplement, but the other is fine as it is.

How is antibacterial agar made? Would it be worth adding a few drops of hydrogen peroxide?
kind of pointless I suppose because if mold appears on agar then we just cut out a good piece and transfer. Thats the whole point!!!!

No, it wouldn't be worthwhile to add peroxide. For one thing, fungal spores don't produce catalase--just hyphae. Any spores would be eradicated if you put them to a peroxidated agar, if the agar did manage to stay peroxidated, which is the other potential problem.
There are two ways to do antibacterial agar. One is to buy gentamycin sulfate, which can survive a PC cycle. The other is to PC a poured agar, let it cool a bit, and then when it's below the denaturing point but above the gelling point, add the antibiotic, swirl to dissolve, and then pour.
