Look into whole oats too. They're around the same price as the big bag of wbs.

I like WBS > Rye. Smaller inoculation points = faster colonization.

Go with the WBS. You should be getting close to 50 pounds for 15 bucks.

Awesome. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks man. And I just may eventually try oats. I've been seeing some people with pretty good results with them

Now for a far away dub shot.

Oh yes lawd.

 I shall try them both eventually. I might get a couple wbs bags from outgrow before I do my own. That way I can be sure I don't fuck up the first time I use them and can get a proper idea of how they colonize.

A few more shots from this morning coming soon.

You got it all backwards,

If you want to see what failure looks like order pre-made. If you want to succeed do it yourself.

Lol I guess that does make sense. I should be able to get a hold of a nice PC soon. Then I'll do wbs myself  I've just been kinda tight for cash this month and haven't been able to spare around 100 for a good one.

90 bucks gets you a Presto 23 qt. You'll be set for for life if you treat it right:

http://www.amazon.com/Presto-01781-23-Quart-Pressure-Canner/dp/B0000BYCFU
I use that one personally so I recommend it.

60 bucks gets you the same size Miro:

http://www.amazon.com/Mirro-Polished-Aluminum-Pressure-22-Quart/dp/B000RNH7PQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422804935&sr=8-1&keywords=mirro+pressure+cooker&pebp=1422804939871&peasin=B000RNH7PQ&pebp=1422804939881&peasin=B000RNH7PQ

People on here use that one too.

Morning.

I like to pick when the caps have flattened out a little. Makes them prettier when they dry IMO.

For reference though, as soon as you see veils tear you can pick. It's just a matter of preference. If I have a big tub I'll let some drop spores 'cause fuck it, I'd rather not open it fifteen times. It's all about personal preference but the second that veil tears they're at peak psycho-activeness.

When I start to PC my own stuff, (this is all outgrow do to my first time bulk) should i stick to rye or switch to birdseed? I can find large quantities of wbs like 15 mins away.. Wbs and rye pretty much colonize at the same speed when g2ging right?

Yes

I like WBS's price and grain size more than rye.

Moisture content is going to affect your colonization times more than type of grain IME.

Good morning to you too sir. I let him go last night and he hit the top of the tub and flattened out. I cut him down a few mins ago. Ill leave everything else to finish up. The first mono might flush day after tomorrow

Right now im just gonna use a box fan with furnace filters. Im pretty sure that a lot of my pins have aborted unfortunately :/ and it looks like 1 tub has stopped almost completely. Im thinking its probably do to my FAE problems. Either way ill still be able to harvest some of them. Im happy i at least had some kind of success on my first try. Ill upgrade to your 27 quart tubs this next time. My issues mainly come from not being able to find much info about small monos. I can probably make 16s work better but itll take some playing.

Anyway. Heres a pic of one tub. Ill post a pic of the one that seems to be stalled later.

Take closer pics of the substrate.

No liner? Look underneath, do you have bottom pins?

Search desiccant chamber, I don't think you can fan dry alone to cracker dry.

Ill look into the desiccant chambers. There arent many bottom pins but i didnt use a inside line. Just one on the outside. I just think my holes may have been too large or too many and my sub dried out to fast. I lost condensation after the second day of fruiting. I stuffed the holes tigher but i think it was a little to late or just didnt really help. Maybe after i dunk the second flush will come up better?

Don't dunk for a second flush IMO,

You have a high chance of water-logging it. Just mist it heavily until you see slight pooling water and wait a day and do it again. Every time I dunk my substrate after the first flush it chokes up on the third.

Just my experience.
