The answer is its possible, cubes are pretty hardy. However if you want good results you should forget all about that thing and research proper fruiting methods like SGFC, monotubs, and dubtubs. Save the big natural terrarium grow fir when you have some serious experience already under your belt.

If I had a terrarium like the one in the pic, with the same temp/humity/FAE that is required for optimum mushroom growing, could I just place a colonized cake on the moss and still get results?
It would be pretty cool to have mycelium growing into the moss or whatever apporitate substrate and getting to pick fruits right off the moss/whatever.
I'm just curious, I don't really plan on doing anything like this anytime soon.

Maybe if you just got some humid fresh air in there and moved some of those stones out. It's not impossible but yeah there are better ways. If you're willing to put it into work I suggest a appropriate air pump with air stones well dispersed though the tank. And if you need more humidity maybe a ultrasonic humidifier. It would look like a beautiful setup in my opinion

Yeah, I just went back to that thread AFTER I asked that.
It would be cool tho. I wonder if you would need a pump though. Those plants would produce a considerable amount of oxygen.

I'd be really interested in seeing someone do something like this.
I've got a few terrariums going and I can't stop thinking about how to attempt such a thing.
