    #21203304 - 01/30/15 04:39 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Hello, I found these fine young ladies growing out of an area of wood chips and dead leaves. The purple hue is interesting and i can't seem to identify it using any of the books or tools online. Anyone have and eye for this one?

Habitat: Wood chip, dead leaves and sticks. San Luis county, California, US.
Gills: Attached
Stem: 1.5" tall/ .5" wide/ larger at base/ purple, light brown, cream color/ very purple internal
Cap: 2.5" diameter/ .5" tall/ cream color, dark brown bruise/ smooth, no texture
Gills: adnexed/ cream, rust, rose colors
Spore print: still waiting!
Color: <see image>
Scent: musky?

Thanks!

That's what i thought but the particularly bulbous stipe on one of them and colouration (if it's from spores) on the gills and stipe made me think it probably is a Cortinarius. But that might also be because they are really dry. If a spore print is obtained though it will be easy to differentiate them. Whitish/pink for L nuda.
