Dialog between friends
J: Hey M, how can I take just one good shit a day?
M: Oh that's easy, you just snort a line of coke every morning.
J: So how much do you think I'd need to buy at one time to have a months supply?
M: It just doesn't work like that my friend, a month supply depends on how much you bought to begin with then continued to buy.

I get 100oz bars from RCM. They are the few mints making 9999 silver. It's almost impossible to buy at or under spot due to the fact people tend to like making money when they sell something.
On the $12 price I don't know where your getting your information from. I know average price for 2015 will be around $18.-- an ounce. A lot of people much smarter than us are expecting silver to dip to 12 with a quick rise after. I don't know if you keep up with prices, RSI or MACD charts but silver is down 1.11 yesterday. As you know silver will triple before gold doubles that's why I prefer silver.

I must have been mistaken on the maple rounds. I think I read one of mick's old posts.
And no kidding it's hard to find them at spot. Maybe if you read my post correctly, I said my dealer sold 10oz bars at spot. Believe it or not, dealers will sell at spot with no premium to get customers in the door. The ones I bought were .999 and serial numbered.
Prior to that, I bought 100 one ounce 999 bars and got a bulk discount which negated the premium as they were on special.
Maybe you should read the Money Matters forum, specifically the silver thread. Lunar Eclipse posts often and accurately.
So in this case, I don't know where you're getting your numbers from.
Regardless, maybe you should check the dealers around your area, maybe even sign up for email specials/discounts. If you're looking at 200 or 250 ounce bars, you may qualify for a bulk discount and pay spot.
And no kidding that other mints make them. No matter what mint they are, a troy ounce is a troy ounce.
Forgive me for trying to save you money on an investment. My bad.
I wasn't trying to be a dick bro but you came out of the gate saying don't hold your breath on the 12 am ounce. I wanted you to know what I have researched about silver futures. I appreciate your help and will also look into buying smaller bars instead of 100oz bars or just buy SLV. I haven't really looked at money matters but I really use seeking alpha, Bloomberg and Morningstar for my financial advice and due diligence rather than the shroomery.

sun_spots said: Maybe younger people treat their tax return like free money, but I don't know many folks over 30 who just indiscriminately piss away their tax money. I use it to pay off debts, pay bills ahead and sock away cash for retirement. Lots of people use their returns for practical purposes. Even when they don't, who gives a shit? It's their money. They can do with it whatever they please.
Much agreed.
In the Shroomery University forum, there's a very amazing thread - Credit Repair 101: A Survey Course.
Anyone who wants to begin building credit (or is drowning in insurmountable debt) this time of the year who is expecting a return should read it. It's bad enough that people are in debt and whine about it here (while buying drugs, going to festivals, buying home entertainment systems, etc).
For building credit, getting cards down to 40% or lower is a good start. However it's in someone's best interest to get rid of the highest APR's. If you're going to whine about it and pay the 110 minimum payment to get 85 a month on capitalized interest on a maxed card... it might be a good idea to get rid of those first.
Seems people are generally unaware of Experian, Transunion and Equifax. Some credit websites only use one or two, some use all three, but you're allowed a freebie from all three once a year to sift through. I had some hanging medical debt from the life-saving ambulance ride that only showed up on one, which I promptly paid. It's important to note however that running constant credit checks can also damage your score. They're not something to run all the time. (Read the thread linked above).
In some cases, crediters will settle on less. If you owe a grand you can tell them "have 800 left to my name, take it or leave it, otherwise it will be gone soon and this would be the time to take what I have left".
It sounds like you're planning well, spots. When I was younger I treated it as free money, but now as I'm older I regret a few things:
1) Investing in Palladium at approx $80 per troy ounce (is selling now 750 to 800).
2) Getting in on silver for less than 10 and I could've sold at 45. My stockpile from my youth did turn into 15,000 though, and the silver my grandmother gifted me more than doubled that number.
3) Not getting in on gold for 450/Oz and selling at 2000. Ten ounces would have been 11,000 profit. Wanted to get 50 ounces, but again, wife.
4) Not getting in on AIG at less than a dollar per share and selling at 85 per share. I wanted to dump 10 grand into it, would've made 85,000 and change but instead of listening to myself and the impending bailouts but I listened to my wife and there goes 75k profit in a matter of just a few years.
5) Stop running pointless credit reports which hurt your general score. You can always run one every quarter, but do them directly through Trans Union, Equifax and Experian not Credit Karma or some shit. I don't think they even alert you but I haven't used them for obvious reasons.
Tl;dr - Put away 6+ months gross salary. Build credit and stay out of debt or pay off highest APR's. Invest for your future via loans or CC's if you ever plan on owning a home or having reasonable interest rates on loans. I've had a 10,000 dollar Bank of America platinum card for 11 years and holy hell that has helped me in multiple ways. The longer you've had it, how you've managed it, and other factors come into play (again, read the Credit Repair thread, there's a lot of building your credit info in there).
There's also a thread in Money Matters by geokills on the best cards to get to suit your needs.

I'm not getting much this year. I'm going to use what I get to pay some of my credit card off. This year I'm only getting 1/6 of what I usually get back
