What is the furthest south these babies have been found (not counting build your own mushie beds)? They "seem" to be moving slowly down the coast from the Astoria area. Have they made it to Lincoln City yet? Further?

I doubt anyone will see any azures anywhere near Lincoln City anytime soon. Anyone here ever seen any that far south?

Hmm. The habitat they like extends all along the coast so one would think that eventually so would the mushrooms. Time to play "johny apple seed" perhaps with a big jug of Azure spawn out on the Tillamook bay spit!

yeah, as we had descussed before, the area would seem to be perfect, and there are anecdotal reports abound, but never so much as a single confirmed report. this saddens me, and though i'd like to continue to hope they may range further than currently thought, i remain highly dubious.

Let's see. They can easily be grown in non-beach areas on wood chips and the like, so specific climate isn't an issue. The grow on dune/beach grass and in wood chips (hardwood anyway) so there is no shortage of substrait. The question then is where did they come from and how long have they been on the far NW Oregon coast? One must wonder if they are transplanted in Oregon from somewhere else (and where is that). In any case based on what their growing conditions are and what they grow on it should be only a matter of time before they greatly expand their range. We just need to help em out. A good North to south wind in November to blow the spores down the coast would be nice too but the wind always blows inland.
