What do you cook?
    #2119314 - 11/18/03 08:50 AM (20 years, 4 months ago)

I for one love to cook! It is very fun IMO and you can just experiment with so many different things that it makes it quite the challenge at times.

So my question for all of you "culinary artists" out there is "What do you enjoy cooking the most?"

You may begin...

Here's a couple of favorites, beer and bloody steak excluded.

I make these mincemeat steaks with fresh basil-garlic-mushrooms, onions, blue cheese and cream. Add diced potatoes fried in a pan with garlic, some onions and olive oil.

Top it all off with dark cognac pepper sauce.
------------------------------------
Next one rocks it...

I use what ever I have around for the meat (chicken, mincemeat, pork or what ever), fry the meat up a bit in a pan. Then I grind loads and loads of cheese. Usually two kinds - Parmesan and what ever the hell I use on my sandwiches at that point. Mix this with the meat (that's cold now because we all took DMT and skipped ahead in time), fresh basil, onions, sun dried tomatoes or what ever I want to put in.

I take these soft tortilla leaves and put one in a pan without any form of grease, add a good deal of the meat mix stuff and top it off with another tortilla leaf. Then just flip them a few times and it's ready. The cheese will melt and make it stick together nicely.

Oh! Back on topic though...

I've recently fell in love with a new recipe my wife started making it's called Schezuan Crispy Beef...

I'll go look for the recipe so I can name off some ingredients...

(SIDE NOTE: Mods please don't move this to the culinary arts section. I just wanted some "laid-back discussion" of what people in the pub like to cook.)

That sounds totally scrumptious and yummy! Perhaps even edible under the right circumstances, mwha ha ha ha  Unfortunately i can not offer up any personal home made recipe to rival the things i am seeing here.......i CAN on occasion (when the stars are aligned in proper and benevolent configuration) come up with a mean pot of krap instant dinner(mac and cheese)

Yeah it just takes a little practice mixed with some love and you should be able to cook in no time.

Up until recently I could make some mean Toast and that was about it. I was also quite proficient at Tang...

Tang? Now THAT is culinery proficiency at it's zenith my friend! (I figure if that putrid shit was good enough for the astronauts, i should be able to make it/chug it down too!)I always kinda get fucked up at the part that sez: "add water" i mean this can all be pretty offputting to a guy that doesn't own a measuring cup or anything else that is analogous to consensual reality

And the toast! Now THAT can be a real SOB, i kinda always wondered why they had the one special slot for the "one slice of toast" option as opposed to REALLY testing your skills and making 2 pieces at the same time........
