I am not a dog person.  But next year, when the babies a bit older, I want to get a kitten.  My cat had to be put to sleep while we were moving last year, he kept throwing blood clots and got paralyzed.  It made the move feel like the Oregon Trail video game.  "MILHAUS HAS DIED OF THROMBOSIS".

that's just the toxoplasmosis talking. i'm kidding (but i'm totally not). i love bot my kitty and my puppies a lot. i've raised the dogs since they were born and the cat since he was 3 weeks old. had to bottle feed him because he was found on the side of the road with 3 siblings in a puddle half frozen to death. mom had been snatched by a coyote it seemed; they only found a paw that looked to have been chewed on near where the kittens were found.

plus side: i got to raise a kitten. this was 10 years ago now.

doggies are 13 this year. unfortunately they are really showing signs of old age (they are large dogs). every time i see them it makes me sad. i miss them so much and i know that one day, maybe even soon, my mom is going to call me and tell me that one of them died. honestly, they are so inseparable that i think if one dies the other might pass shortly after, especially if Bruiser is the one to go first.

That one actually made me laugh at loud
Seriously though, I'm sorry about your cat. It's heart-breaking to see your pet in that state. I'd like to get a kitten when I move out. If you socialize them from a young age they're just as loving as dogs.

Awesome pic man.

It was actually kinda crazy.  I got that kitty a few months after I moved to DeKalb, and the day before we moved, he threw his first clot and started dying.  It's like he was designated to one town.

But yeah man, cats are awesome.  My guy was better than any dog I ever met.

Thanks, man, it's a pretty old one. I'm pretty sure I was living in DeKalb (or about to move there) when that picture was taken. It's better that you put him to sleep rather than prolonging his stress and pain but that's very weird timing, indeed.

I like cats and dogs but I prefer cats because you don't have to clean them and they're not all up in your face and whatnot. I like laid-back dogs but I've just encountered too many poorly trained dogs over the years.

Hahaha, I hear ya. Even a cat with a great temperament can be a disobedient little shit. Unlike dogs, they don't seem to know their place in the hierarchy relative to humans.

A cat will knock over a glass of water just to be a dick.

It looks like there's a grizzly bear about to take a bite out of your shoulder.
