I used to be able to flip a coin and make it come out how I wanted almost every time. It's all in the timing I think.

I could teach you calculus faster than a commercial break. Do you doubt me? You need not even have passed algebra. This is the graph for x^2. 1*1=1 2*2=4 etc. You only have to be able to see that much.

Never heard it referred to as that (I know it as Pascal's triangle) but I think there is some relationship to the Fibonacci sequence. That came up in addressing the question "What are the odds of getting 5 heads and 5 tails in 10 throws?" (in any order.)
Well? What's the fucking answer?

That's not calculus, that's geometry.
I got a B- in calculus

Well then this is just review. The graph of y = 2x displays the rate of change, or slope at any point for the graph of y=x^2.
In order to acquire the equation for this second graph it is necessary to take a derivative. Multiply the exponent (in this case 2) by the number in front of x which in the case of (1)x^2 is simply 1. and drop one degree from the exponent which in this case is squared becomes x^1. So taking the derivative of y = x^2 becomes y = 2x. Blam! That's the first two weeks of Calculus 1 explained in two minutes.

Shit... Let me go get my statistics notebook
Its basically the combination of heads or tails to the 9 degree or something like that.
Give me 20 minutes, I'll have it

So I comes down to the number of combinations of flipping a coin 10 times.
The equation is 10^2
When figuring out the probability of getting 9 heads in a row when selecting 10 flips the equation changes slightly.
N!/(2^10(X!)) Where N is the number of flips being examined, and X being the number of heads.
Which comes out to .009765625 .97% chance of getting 9 tails or heads in a set of ten flips. Almost 1% chance.
The statician is still going to tell you that its a 50/50 chance on the next flip.

The chance of getting 9 heads or 9 tails us 10/1024.
Or .976 as you said.

What are the chances of playing Russian roulette five times and not shooting yourself in the head? The individual chance of each attempt is 1/6.

The odds of discharging a round is 1 in 6. Five out of six times whoever tries that will have a bullet in the head. Better to do it with the gun pointed in a safe direction.

I use to gamble a lot with bitcoin, mostly 50/50 odds. It's surprising how many times you can lose back to back, my record losing spree is in the 12-16 range. 4-6 consecutive losses feels fairly common if you play enough. Maybe it's semi-rigged though. Then again maybe not. One day I logged in randomly and won 1/80 on my first bid... first & last bid that day
