Oyster substrate options
    #21184935 - 01/27/15 04:36 AM (9 years, 3 months ago)

My contact for wheat straw has fallen through. My grains are fully colonised and ready to go. I have some oak chips I was planning to add to the straw.

Do I have any other options other than:
- wheat straw
- wood pellets

i have grown them on coir before in filter bags, then poked holes.  they didn't do bad.  u could add some spent coffee to give it a boost.
it was blue oysters in a crappy low humidity GH at home

people use cardboard too.

Oysters are not that picky, these were grown with my old socks and t-shirts mixed with coir and verm.

And these were on phone books coir and verm.
