2.5 Days in -- Is this progress a fluke?
    #21169151 - 01/23/15 10:09 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

So I've started adding gypsum and bone meal to my substrates. My KSSS grow was *really* fast, but this latest one seems ridiculous. Below is roughly 2.5 days after spawning to bulk. Same substrate in 2 tubs and both are growing at the same rate. Is this normal and I've just been slacking on my substrate prep? or just a fluke of a grow?

Nice man!

Could be a fluke

Or you could've found something useful

It's MS so no one will know

Keep us updated

125mm filter disk trimmed and sealed with silicone. One on each end and another on the lid. It was meant as just a colonizing box but it seems to work great all the way up to fruiting so far.. Might do a larger version soon

Sane spawn ratio? Sometimes if I mix my tubs funny more grain ends up on top and the top colonizes faster. Do you have a clear liner? Check the sides and bottom.

I've had tubs go very fast on top but there will be slow patches on the bottom or sides. Its what I use a clear liner

Just a small update. So, we're looking at ~4 days for colonization in both tubs. Neat!

What is your spawn to sub ratio that's probably why first picture looks like a nice of inoculation sites probably had a high ratio which is why it's going so quickly

True. This is a smaller grow at 1:1. Still happy to see it fluff up so quickly though. Just got an upgrade to the usual equipment though, pushing into a bigger grow next
