Most beautiful music for trips?
    #21180371 - 01/26/15 03:58 PM (9 years, 3 months ago)

Hey guys, I'm planning on going on a trip in a few days and I have a pretty large collection of great songs, but I'd really like some more. I really love listening to beautiful music while tripping. I was wondering what everybodys most beautiful tunes are for tripping?

I'm looking for something beautiful, ethereal

My favorite mushroom trip music is Dead Can Dance.

Also Lisa Gerrard's album "Duality"

These should be suitable for LSD trip too.

Thanks I'll definitely check those out. I've heard some Dead Can Dance before never really listened to more than a song or two.

If you have a positive experience whilst listening to them, you will love them till the end of your life.
They are extraordinary. Lisa sings in her own virtual language. And Brendon's lyrics are very inspiring.

I went to see them live tripping on highest dose of semilanceatas in my life. It was the greatest mushroom trip of my life.
I feel that I should have written a trip report on that. It would be an unique composition of trip report and a gig review.

hi; try pascal pinon from youtube. i like "new beginnings" and another one that is weird; its spelled like "astrior" or something idk.

also you could try xxyyxx "fields" and passionpit "secrets". also Lake "no wonder i", and "roger miller". evilneedle is also a good band; so is cage the elephant, otep, and babymetal. all songs by mentioned bands are amazing. ohh and flyleaf. ohh and also "breezeblocks" by alt-j.

also if you get a chance watch some zefrank videos off of youtube. he's an interesting philosopher to listen to while tripping. you might consider watching some of his videos pretrip to set the mood posative.

There is a lot of different music out there of course and everyone has differing opinions. I do enjoy dead can dance myself. I suppose I'd have to recommend
ZHU-Faded
Toyface- Beige Walls
Bang Gang- Follow, forward and reverse, sleep
Kiesza- hideaway
War- slippin into darkness
funkadelic- maggot brain
Gry- La More, princess crocodile, perfume for phantoms
The Knife- Lasagna, Bird, zapata, rock classics
Lalaeh- in the comet, sway, stars align, colors

and there's just so much more.
Tons of great music out there depending on what you're really in to.

I just want to say, check out the band "boards of canada" their music is top notch, really one of the few bands that have something way beyond going on.

Also

aphex twin, more acid type music
miles davis (bitches brew, dark magus), grateful dead (live stuff, american beauty, aoxomoxoa, anthem of the sun (GREAT stuff going on there))

tortoise, royksopp, bjork (debut)

possibly "plaid" aswell

Oceanlab is my favorite, by far. Then there's always Enya, Celtic Woman, Tycho or other Celtic or New Age artists. Though, not everybody enjoys those so...

Ethereal? Yet only heard a song or two from DCD?
I'm guessing that was by choice, which amazes me.
Dead Can Dance are incredible, oft imitated...

Okay, what about this...
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (Full Album)

Or...
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Tinderbox (1986)

Or...
Cocteau Twins - Four Calendar Cafe (1993)

Perhaps this...
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Bavarian Fruit Bread (full album)

Like swinging in the dark, without a clue as to what you like already.
Not like there's ONE type of music to trip to. Or one type of trip...

Ethereal, hm. :confused2:

I dosed mostly between '95 and 2000 and my favorites were Dead Can Dance and Bauhaus. Nowadays I can get with electronic artists such as Burial

Extrawelt

Jon Hopkins, Moderat etc.
