Have you tested your syringe filtered lc lids to see if they really work

Anyone ever test their lids? I have recently bought some plastic lids with rubber gaskets from a sponsor. I have never liked plastic lids but figured the problem was fixed with the gasket. So I decided to do some test runs with water. I also made some lids out of metal lids and rings.
Here is what I found. Ball Plastic lids suck no matter what. I am surprised companies still sell them. But this next thing is the most important find. The rubber injection port will fail before the syringe filter will allow air through. Try it out for yourself. Fill a jar with water. Put the lid on it. Tip it on its side to cover yhe port. Insert needle and suck some water out. You may want to turn the jar upside down. Watch the air bubbles leak back through the injection port. So far I have seen this on both chinese and whatman .22 and .45 syringe filters. Al Though my whatman filters are ten years old but I do not know if they have been used before or not. I have new whatmans coming. I also sm curious about inline hepa filters. I have found some at a brew store for 5$. I have also seen a whatman air filter but they are around ten bucks each.
More research to come

I make my own with Metal lid for dirt cheap A caulking gun sized tube of silicon is like 6$ and enough to do lots of jars. Plastic lids are made to make jams and pickles.

I have glass peanut butter jars with PP5 lids and if I put water in them they would leak when upturned, this was before heating. I regularly use jars to store food and liquids so often test them. I have tested jars fitted with a pressure gauge and most leaked when at about 2psi.
I have put silicone on the peanut butter jar lids and they sealed OK.
Where do your injection ports leak? I am guessing these are ones that push into a hole in the lid? Are they leaking around the sides or in the hole you made?
I have had ports leak through the hole the needle made, but after many hits. I just replace them. The thicker the better, I make mine into a sort of cone shape on both sides. I use clear silicone so can see the hole I am aiming for.
