JFK assassination
    #2117980 - 11/17/03 08:46 PM (13 years, 26 days ago)

i've been watching a few programs this evening on the history channel about it. it's intriguing... definitely a vast coverup. does anyone know of any good books on the subject? i'd like to read more about it...

any theories?

from what i've seen, i think there's little doubt in my mind that the government was involved.

They had programs all day about how the Nazi party came to power. Good stuff.

Is that JFK thing I've been seeing a commercial about every two minutes still on?

Chances are it was an isolated incident.

I've heard it all. Mob conspiracies, Cuban involvement... government.

Who cares.

Exactly. That?s why I can?t believe people act like Bush being involved in 9-11, and Bush invading Iraq for personal gain is so inconceivable. If a government will kill the President Of The United States Of America in broad daylight at a parade, what wouldn?t they do?

Crossfire: the Plot that Killed Kennedy by Marrs is quite an excellent book. I took a university course on the subject and that was one of the texts. The author presents all of the various assassination theories and information regarding them into a near-encyclopedia on the subject. The book is readily available at most booksellers.

The Men Who Killed Kennedy on the History Channel is amazing as well. I want to track down DVD copies of the entire series.

I've heard about secret CIA files concerning the entirety of the events surrounding his death. They are supposedly secretly locked up and cannot be opened for another 60 years. Ironic that everyone who was involved in the government at the time of his death will be dead themselves when the reality comes to light?

Yeah, Under House Rule 36, HSCA Chairman Louis Stokes sealed these files for a period of 50 years, until 2028. Not only do these files deal with JFK, but also Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who may have also been assassinated by way of conspiracy and cover-up.

it's so cool how politicians can order their documents
sealed indefinitely or for vast periods of time.

I think Dean did it in Vermont, Bush did it for his father
and Reagan and Kissinger did it after playing international
politics like some sort of bizarre board game called 'Genocide'.

if you watch the zapruder film, it's extremely obvious that the bullet that hit him in the head came from the front. also, according to dozens of people who saw his body, there was a large hole in the back of the head and a small one in front, which is what happens when you're shot from the front.

why did the government suppress these accounts? why did they alter JFK's autopsy photos to show the back of the head intact? what is contained in the files sealed until 2028? what's with jack ruby?

I was only aware that the History Channel had this edition of "The Men Who Killed Kennedy". But last night I turned on the History Channel and they were showing a whole new episode of the this incredible series! I just checked amazon, and apparently there is a 40th Anniversary Edition coming out. I assume that these new episodes will be included.

The episode I watched last night shed light on how involved the secret service was in the whole thing(at least the top guys). They showed video of the head SS guys telling their subordinates to back off of their positions, and the subordinates throwing their hands up like "WTF?". They talked about how they completely left Kennedy out in the open to be shot and how the car Kennedy was killed in was immediately taken to Detroit so that Ford could remove the glass(which many people said had a bullet hole in it) and replace it with new glass.

They also talked more about how the autopsy pictures were faked so that they looked the way the gov't wanted them to look(entry hole in the back).

cool man  I might have to order it as well. You should also read the book Libra by Don Delillo - excellent, chilling book - recommended for anyone who enjoys suspense and conspiracy.

The Discovery Channel has a forensic science show, I watch so many I forgot the name (Forensic Files, possibly) that ran an array of very controlled scientific tests on the assertations of the Warren comission. For example, they had a sharpshooter take the exact same shot that Lee H supposedly did with a Mannlicher-Carcanno bolt action rifle. The exact model, refitted by a gunsmith with the exact scope that LHO supposedly used. A claim was that their was no way he could possibly shoot that accurately in the short amount of time (6-8 seconds). The sharpshooter that they had managed to do almost the exact same shots in 7.5 seconds, proving that it was entirely possible for LHO to have, at least, put that many accurate rounds into a target in that specific amount of time. Lots of other interesting tidbits as well.

You have to keep in mind that Oswald was a terrible marksman in the military. Also, the scope on the MC rifle was defective. Did they reproduce the busted scope and the poor marksmanship? Furthermore, how did they explain the fatal shot that blew up the head of Kennedy? Even the House Senate Committee on Assasinations in the late 1970s believed and put forth solid evidence that the fatal shot came from the front right - possibly the Grassy Knoll. How many shots did the expert marksman actually hit on target? According to the HSCA, the ammunition that was linked to the MC rifle was incredibly defective as well; during one test batch, seventeen bullets out of twenty failed to shoot.

I think there is strong evidence that one of the snipers was perched in one of the buildings over Dealy Plaza, but not necessarily mean that Oswald pulled the trigger. The planned triangulation would have been the sewer, the railroad bridge or Grassy Knoll, and a high building such as the School Book Depository.
