Electronic Music Collaboration

OK, this is something I've wanted to try for a while, and refreshed by Beatle trying to organize an instrument/based collaboration. I've got 2 files uploaded Here called Collab Riff and Collab Drum . I want to try and do an electronic music collaboration with anyone on this board-this is an open deal just like the Photoshop collab's. The Specifics: I've provided simple drums and a simple riff. it's in 6/8, 90 BPM. I want you to do whatever you want with it, add bass, add effects, add whatever, change whatever, this is completely open. As for notes in the riff, Here is a MIDI piano roll: If this seems like a tough starting point, holler. We could always turn it even simpler and in 4/4. try it out! Also, you can make it however long or short you want. I'm not really sure what I expect from this, only to share some creation in a song or somethin like that. Also, any ideas to make this easier or better, Post it!

Hell man, once I get the cracked Fruity Loops again, sometime soon, I will definitely want to try this out. Peace.

you can use just the mp3 clips to make it in any sequencing program. Can you attach .wav's to .flp's? because if not then sending you the fruity loops file wouldn't work...

What you can do (it is a lot easier with Cool Edit) is to convert the WAVs into mp3s for transfer purposes. Just take every wav involved with the song and convert it to mp3, and then also transfer the session file, and the person that is receiving the files can transfer them back to wavs. It has been working for me and my guitarist.. Peace.

Yeah you can do that. Open your project in fruityloops and go to FILE, then EXPORT, then ZIPPED LOOP PACKAGE. You'll have everything in that .ZIP file !
I'll download your drum and riff and will add something over it.
Meanwhile, try to upload a zipped loop package of what you did so far. Which Fruity Loop version are you using? I was able to get my hands on the new Fruity Loop Studio 4 .
It's FL Studio 4.0.1 to be precise.

You will probably want to convert them to mp3, though, transferring wavs is a fucking bitch. They can always be converted back on the other computer. Peace.

Zipped wavs are about 33% smaller. It is true that MP3 gives you around 90% compression at 128. So far, we're speaking of small drum sample wavs. No big deal.
I personnaly hate the idea of transfering good wavs to mp3 and then switching back to wav. When I work digital, I can't stand for quality loss.
Let see how this project goes. If it gets too big, mp3 could help.
On the other hand, if everyone works with fruity loops and use the zipped loop package function to export, it will always stay under 1 or 2 megs.
Whatever, i'm on cable, haha!

I got my hands on FL4 but it isn't complete, so I'm using 3.5.6full.
There's a couple different tracks on this flp so i'll just send it over. wait, do you have absynth?

Ok, 3.5.6. is fine for me too. No I don't have absynth. What is it? I'm pretty sure I could find it easily.

absynth is an amazing soft synth that plugs into fruity loops and other progs that support it.
But for the sake of commonality i'll put the Absynth stuff in as .wav samples.
the flp is comin, it's comin...

it's really up to you.
Maybe once a few people submit a clip we could put it all together... Add whatever you want, take it in any direction

btw, I can host any music file, if you'd like to send it to me, my AIM name is Trizz8 HERE is DannyT's collaboration. Scroll down and listen to the first track. I really dig it, the feedback effect is dope, adds a good sense of atmosphere to it. Exactly what I was thinkin. I hope more people do this, and we could merge it at the end! I'm workin on mine, it'll be up tonight or tomorrow.

I can save it as a MIDI file, but I can't host it anywhere The zebox page can only host .mp3, .rm, or .mov
