Very interesting :takingnotes: and I didn’t know lions and tigers were different species, I thought they were all cats:shrug: I thought they could all fuck and make babies except for a hyena (which isn’t a cat, not even a dog, whole different species to which only one variety of hyena are the only members FYI

ha ha. I guess makes sense if you've not looked into it or grown up on a farm like I did.

Cats are the genus (Felidae)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felidae

Lion, tiger, house cat, Bob Cat, etc, are each a species within the genus.

Cube shroom "strains" (more accurately "varieties" or "races") are like the difference between a Persian house cat, a British Short Hair, and a Maine Coon. They're all the same species and can produce fertile offspring. That in shrooms would be like Penis Envy, B+, X7X, etc.

Fun fact, there are cat breeds and cube varieties called "Burmese."

Some sketchy shroom sellers used to claim that some of their spores were a cross between different species within the Psilocybe genus, but I don't think it's really been done yet.

It really would be the holy grail of all this.

Some non-sketchy people even thought that P-Nats were a cube variety until recently. Hell, the first post (from last year) on the currently hot P-Nat thread makes that assumption in the first post:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26414295/vc/1/nt/165

Might be possible between Psilocybe cubensis and Psilocybe natalensis, A-Rock said the recent sequencing of P-Nat puts them closest to cubes of any psilocybe genus shrooms.

I'm guessing if they can get crossed, you might have to propagate tissue via cloning rather than spores, but I don't know. Probably no one knows yet.

But if anyone can do it, I'm betting on fahtster.

(Let's take replies over to the P-Nat thread before we get spanked as hijackers)

You just now turned me on to that thread :takingnotes:

Before my time but I heard that. Wasn't B+ made by MMJshroomer? (correct me if I'm wrong), the guy who threatened to sue and kill people on here for sharing his spores. Also said something about turning someone into the FBI over some beef online? (not smart thing to do when the main thing you're known for is growing illegal drugs, and even writing books about it.)

Trying to find the thread now. It's jaw dropping.

Isn't that the guy who also said some Cambodian "strain" of his was from elephant poo at the temples of Angkor Wat? lol OOOH MAGICAL SPIRITUAL ANCIENT SPECIAL SHROOMS!

B+ have a bad rap, but first thing I grew and they got the job done.

Adding my cult pic of the day, so this isn't a hijack.
Z-Strain. (isn't that one of those b.s. "strains" from that guy Keeper who renamed Golden Teacher as other things like "star gazer" and Z-Strain? Though I do know this had the most aggressive mycelium I've had on petris other than P-Nats.)

I drive all around town to ever garden store looking for verm. I finally found it at this garden store like 25 miles into the country from my town. I picked up the biggest bag iv ever got last one they had. It weighed like 30lbs. So I hope I'm set for a little bit. All the pet store didn't have coir either but I found the gold mine at a hydro shop.my only concern is the verm bag was sitting outside and it has the little holes like most bags of verm have I hope it didn't show get mold spore in it some how just spawnd some tubs using it. So I guess I'll see

Some coir for plants has fucking trich added intentionally, it helps plants somehow (I think fights off other worse contams and doesn't harm plants?). I found that out the hard way last year.

That's why shroomie people buy coir at pet stores, that stuff doesn't have the added nasties.

from
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26374048#26374048
"Unless you get it (coir) from a hydroponics store. They add Trich to it to promote root growth in cannabis. Of course it won't say it on the label, but they do it."

From a post down that same thread:

"Trich is a fungus, that means it has mycelium and that mycelium can look quite nice and white especially under low gas exchange environments.
A bit like mushroom mycelium, when given enough fresh air and moisture trich likes to sporulate.
Just because it’s not green in the jar doesn’t mean it isn’t there."

It can contam your whole house once it goes green.

You could maybe PC the fuck out of it in jars and be good. Maybe....But I'd throw it out or return it (possibly at a loss) and get the right stuff. You can order it online too, order the stuff with the lizard or tarantula on the picture.

Coco Bliss coir from Plantronix does not have trich added. You can get it on Amazon or eBay.

Grow it is pretty good stuff.. kinda stringy for my liking but I used it a bunch and got the job done.  Coco bliss is great and all I use now.. I love the consistency.. it’s like tiny cube bits

Speaking of, didn’t you see cracks natxape nektar??

Lions and tigers can definitely have babies. Ligers are a real thing.

Plus something weird happens to the growth genes and they get as big as both parents combined or something like that. Massive.

Yes, When I started my first cannabis grow I learned this.

This is mycorrhiza that you sprinkle on the roots during transplant which helps with nutrient uptake. It also has trich...

Used chopped straw, spent coffee grounds, coir, sandy silt from creek pasteurized and cased with sandy silt and peat. Going to be a fun 4th!

I finally put some of these spores to agar. I hope they germinate!
