I think yours look more regular cube like then what came of my "PEU" swab. Mine didn't even look PE at all and not really like a cube. Maybe it was some fucked up genetics or something.

Bad luck streak continued- Cobweb mustve found its way into my coir during my spawn to bulk or something. Spawned it, checked 4 days later. Damn thing was absolutely smothered in cobweb. Tossed it outside to die.
Ive got 2 other tubs im gonna have to toss today from gnats. Probably more cakes.

Sorry to hear that man. Keep pushing on. I have recently had a tub show it's trich during a good first flush.Had to harvest early and dump. (that's got me kinda worried, monitoring my procedure extra carefully now) And,of the 32 APE jars I inoculated on 5/20 only about 16 have germinated, and kinda poorly at that.(1 or 2 inoculation points on each jar) Gonna have some down time now while I get another variety ready.

Do you think this loose saran wrap will work to keep the casing from drying out and CO2 high or should I tape the corners down?

Co2 is heavier then atmospheric gas, and as you don't want to eliminate gas exchange all together, I think taping is a bad idea; unless you poke and (micropore) tape a hole

While co2 is heavier its still infinitely miscible and doesn't make a blanket in these circumstances.
Besides that you can do fruiting conditions immediately anyway. Forget about keeping co2 in, we're growing an aerobic organism

I have read it can be beneficial for pinset, but obviously not necessary... to each his own... I do know I had a tray trich after attempting the wax paper microclimate deal... may not have been related, but something to consider

Molds love stale moist environment, wax paper is something i certainly would never try.
Free of contamination is best for a pinset.

Ok thanks for the good advise, I’ll prob leave loosely covered for a day or two before I remove the blocks from trays and start fruiting conditions.
